@jay33631513 @_GeradTheGreat @dolapocarter Let me break it down for you. You don't say "x is bad because someone used it for bad things" Look at it and it's core. Look at the tenents of Christianity. Show me where Jesus says people should be killed for not accepting? So why do you throw the baby out with the bathwater?

@_GeradTheGreat @dolapocarter millions of people have been killed in the name of religion either religious war between Christians and Muslims or just because some people refuse to accept the foreign religion

I started questioning religion at the age of 16 in SS3. There was a civic education textbook from LASG we had to read to prepare for WAEC. In the book I discovered how Christianity and Islam were both tools of colonization. Christianity came from European colonizers who arrived by sea, which is why it took root predominantly in coastal and southern Nigeria. Islam spread from the Middle East through North Africa and the Sahara trade routes, which is why northern Nigeria is predominantly Muslim. The religion you practice today has more to do with which direction your ancestors were colonized from than any divine encounter. Think about that.

@dolapocarter Yes because human beings can use anything to do anything. That doesn't define that thing. If I tell you that knives were used to kill 10million people, Will you say "Knives are bad because bad people's uses it to do bad" - calling the object corrupt because of how it was used.

The same Bible that was used to pacify enslaved Africans into accepting their condition. The same religious structures that replaced our traditional belief systems and told us our own spirituality was demonic. And today we defend these inherited religions with more passion than we defend our own welfare. We fast and pray in a country being looted daily. It just never made sense to me

@faveda12 Generalizing negativity is always bad. Many people on X tweet sensational things for engagements. It's the sad reality of social media. You could be rife with anger, replying a stupid tweet while the poster is kicking his feet in bed seeing all the comments he's getting

@N25W71 @IamKingsleyOgar @Africanized3 Or... We don't get everything we pray for and prayer was never meant to mean waving a magic wand... Even in the Bible we see the Disciples pray for people in prison. Some times they were released, miraculously even, sometimes they were k!lled.

@KhloeUmoh That happens when the honorable tag "feminism" is diluted with the vile act of Misandry. It becomes corrupted from being "for women" to "against men" And sadly, many feminists are openly misandrists... and they are loud about it.

I think the saddest thing about feminism is how revolutionary it seems. How can a movement for equal treatment at best and common human dignity at worst ruffle so many feathers? How can it be so difficult to understand? How can it be met with so much pushback? It is so obscene.

@_OKJ__ Well, Moses in the Bible wrote about how he killed a guy. Yes, inspired by the Spirit. But for our edification. Same idea here. Some might see it as a reason to look down on him/his wife/their marriage. But it'll definitely edify people. (Btw he wrote that his wife consents)

So this is the craziest thing I’ve read on this app this year … Why would anyone say this shit 😂
Trevor Sheatz@TrevorSheatz

My wife was formerly promiscuous. I was a virgin. She was then radically born-again. Committed to church, evangelized constantly, Puritan books in her bedroom, prayer journals, grief over past sexual sin, etc. We got to know each other well for over a year, dated for four months, engaged for two and a half, and didn't sin sexually with one another. Our first kiss with each other was at the altar on our wedding day (reaction pic attached!). We've been married for over five years now, and she's been the most wonderful and godly wife, mother to our three children, and homemaker you could imagine. She's more pure than most virgins, as biblical purity has less to with past sins (though they certainly matter) and more to do with one's current posture of the heart and daily decisions to honor the Lord (Matt. 5:8). We're far too quick to forget the story of the woman labeled as a known "sinner" (likely a prostitute) in Luke 7:36-50 who was washing Jesus' feet with her tears while kissing them too. The Pharisees were shocked that Jesus let a public sinner do this. Jesus responded with a parable about debts being forgiven and ended with this powerful conclusion: "Her many sins have been forgiven; that’s why she loved much. But the one who is forgiven little, loves little" (Luke 7:47). Everyone seems to highlight the benefits of virginity, and it certainly is a blessing. But we forget to highlight the benefits of being forgiven much as well. My wife knows the depths of Jesus' forgiveness more than most people, enabling her to more easily live out a life of passionate love for her Savior. A woman or man's past sexual sin matters. But what matters far more when it comes to deciding who to marry is if the person is truly born again, if their repentance is real, if they truly have a heart for Christ, if they truly follow Jesus and obey his commands. "God has chosen what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen what is weak in the world to shame the strong. God has chosen what is insignificant and despised in the world — what is viewed as nothing — to bring to nothing what is viewed as something, so that no one may boast in his presence. It is from him that you are in Christ Jesus, who became wisdom from God for us — our righteousness, sanctification, and redemption, — in order that, as it is written: 'Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.'" (1 Cor. 1:27-31) "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!" (2 Cor. 5:17)

This will forever be funny to me. Women will whore around with multiple men while being single. They cook food for their parents and siblings. They clean their father's house. They work to make money. All of a sudden, all these they did while being single become slavery in marriage whereas they're simply repeating the same circle but this time around with their husbands. If marriage is than condemning to you, why not stay single? Is anybody forcing you to say YES to men proposal? If you have to always cry about things you have the capacity to avoid, you're simply telling the world you want that thing. At the end of the day, nobody is more obsessed about getting married more than women. This is why they always portray marriage as slavery. If you hate men that much, you won't have lost your virginity right from secondary school, committed countless abortions along the years for multiple men and have a high body count. SO, FUCK OFF!

For those who can't watch the full interview, here are the things he said: 1. They've arrested a total of 16 men. 2. It's a festival that holds every 3/4 years in the place to pray for the barren (sic) to conceive. It was never intended for assault and such hasn't happened before. 3. Contrary to what the guy acting as narrator in the trending videos said, it was not rape. Although, women were sexually assaulted and groped as seen. It was important to make the distinction as rape is clearly different and they will be prosecuting the arrested men on grounds of the actual offence they committed. 4. He was taken out of context when he replied Rinu. As 'turn on' has other meanings and he didn't mean the sexual part. He deleted his comment because he was misunderstood. However, insisted he would not apologise because he didn't do anything wrong.

If someone argues that a former promiscuous woman is "damaged goods" and questions whether a Christian young man should marry her, remember Rahab. She was a Canaanite prostitute but became a mother in the lineage of Jesus. God redeemed her, cleansed her, and Salmon married her.
