Today is a happy today - we’re in Edinburgh, we’re exploring and I get to see some lovely people. Tomorrow I get to graduate, surrounded by family. I will finally officially be a #MScDE graduate! I’m a very weird mix of nerves and excitement and glad to finally take this step!

@a_webb @secrettory12 There is no huge influx. We take far fewer refugees than other major European countries. This is just an immeasurably cruel policy directed at the most vulnerable people in language that is not dissimilar to that used by Germany in the 30s, and I’m out of order?

@profpeterbrad Absolutely right. The urgent need to return to the classroom was a knee-jerk reaction (lots of reasons), that loses sight of the many advantages of hybrid for staff and students.

#LTHEchat A4 For many if not most students, hybrid will be part of their future careers at some point. So doesn’t HE have an obligation to integrate that into courses to offer oportunities for skills development and for critical analysis of the sort of issues in this discussion
