Further justification of what I’ve seen in 13 years of coaching general fitness clients. Originally, I would only accept clients to train in the morning because there was a much higher likelihood they would be consistent.
Stuart Phillips (he/him)@mackinprof

What time of the day should I exercise? physoc.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1113/JP… "...compared with afternoon training, the morning group showed further benefits in systolic BP (−1% vs. −4%, respectively), glucose control (fasting insulin concentration, −5 vs. −12%; and homeostasis model assessment-estimated insulin resistance, −4% vs. 14%), as well as in the overall MetS Z-score (−19% vs. −52%)" "...there is one only certainty: people should be much more active, whatever the time of the day."

Good article on an unknown sports dynasty... "You want to spend all your time thinking about what you’re going to do, not what’s going to happen. That works. I’m positive that works." theathletic.com/5052866/2023/1…

“Our culture accidentally swapped out childhood freedom and responsibility for adult-run activities. We thought we were eliminating risk, and making them happy.” How can we take notes in athletic development? letgrow.org/independence-f…

@mboyle1959 @lqstrengthcoach Some things are worth investing time in now to build habits for years to come. Get used to waning up now. It doesn’t have to take long. And doesn’t have to be boring.

@lqstrengthcoach We did that but switched back. Males at growth sport age desperately need static stretching and mobility.

Kids don’t warm up before playing at the park, recess, running around at a football game… I’ve eliminated any traditional warm-ups before any of my youth athletes’ training sessions. We go right into tag, & then sprints. Not 1 “injury” Warm ups are boring, & unnecessary?

I'll throw one more out there to give a bit of a reprieve on the "how to's" and build the importance of why science is important for everyone. Here's a nice take on how different industries can get value from scientific literature by @Forbes forbes.com/sites/forbesbu…
