When Satty Singh went to an Old Firm game in 1994, his wife was due to give birth to their second son the next day.
He was a Rangers fan and he had already done this once before.
A few years earlier, Mark Walters had scored against Celtic and Satty had named his first boy Mark Walters Singh.
So this time he made another promise before kick-off.
“I don’t care who it is, I’m naming my son after the next goal scorer.”
That probably felt like a fairly safe bet.
Rangers had Ally McCoist.
They had Mark Hateley.
They had Ian Durrant.
Unfortunately for Satty, the next Rangers scorer against Celtic was Oleg Kuznetsov.
And that left him with a problem.
Because now he had a baby due, a promise already made, and a son about to arrive with one of the more unexpected names in Glasgow.
The ridiculous part was that Satty stuck to it.
The family finally got used to it as well.
“Everything has turned out well and Oleg doesn’t get any bother for it.”
“He just gets referred to as wee Oleg.”

Your birth month decides your goalkeeper… they’ve got one job save the penalty and you live. Miss it and it’s game over. No pressure 👀 Who are you backing to step up? Do they clutch it… or are you finished?
Falkirk 2:0 Rangers minutes going into halftime. Chukwuani scored a 'goal' where ball went well out of play. Everyone expected it to be chalked off... @ScotlandSky camera man getting all the angles of it
@johno0262@wombatjnr@4ladshadadream@henrywinter@NeilSimmy8@PitchPublishing Did you miss the tackles Souness was handing out? It was a terrible tackle on Durrant but the vacuum rangers fans seem to think this took place is wild. Souness was committing tackles just as bad-McLuskey at Easter Road, Stark at Celtic Park
Really looking forward to reading this from @NeilSimmy8. The football story is obviously very strong, facing Gullit and Platini. Aberdeen, Gothenburg glory, trophies, that challenge on Durrant, but also the personal journey and finding his father after 60 years. @PitchPublishing
What were your thoughts on this incident between Livingston's Cammy Kerr and Rangers' Mikey Moore?

@ExtremeFootbal4 This (I believe was in the papers) years ago. Who actually gives a fk? The guys a Tim supporting his team, big deal. Maybe I’m just old enough that we were brought up with the old saying” sticks & stones..”
A Celtic fan holds up a scarf with obscene language during the CIS Insurance Cup fourth-round match between Celtic and Rangers at Ibrox in Glasgow, Scotland (2004).
Celtic in the last month;
Injury time equaliser and ET winner against Dundee in the Scottish Cup.
Last minute winner against Livi.
Comeback from 2-0 down to win vs Killie.
Comeback from 2-0 down to draw vs Rangers at Ibrox.
From 1-0 down to 3-1 winners against Motherwell today.
That’s why they are where they are, always finding a way.
IF we win the league this season…
the celtic park DJ has to play penny arcade and simply the best on trophy day. it’s an open goal.
and fuck it, throw “i’m feeling it” in there as well.
@fckNzsOM@hooliganscz1999@lnt221_ Rangers are generally extreme right wing pro British Fascists who hate Catholics.
Celtic are generally left wing pro Scottish Independence, pro Irish unification and while being founded by catholic priests have always been open to all. FUCK RANGERS !
