@T__Baloney @superjmstone @ChadBrendel The NCAA and NY Post are far from Cody’s mouthpieces. The two sources were staff members at Cincy, unless you think 3rd parties could get direct knowledge some other way, but there you go not actually reading shit again

@jonkappes1985 @superjmstone @ChadBrendel You think UC leaked the story to Cody Campbell's mouthpiece? I swear you've never used your brain. His gambling was reported to Tech weeks earlier. It was going to come out. Cody Campbell timed the story's release. Let me guess, the 2 sources were Sorsby and Campbell.

Or maybe, and stay with me now, it's because he was addicted to gambling and knew he was breaking every rule in the book so he kept it hidden from an entity that A) had no hard evidence he was breaking the rules and B) no subpoena power to investigate any further. But you clowns are so desperate to absolve yourself from wrongdoing you refuse to see the reality right in front of your face.
LAZYBOY@thelazyboymf

@ChadBrendel they knew about it Chad, they just didn’t look into it hard enough. maybe its because they knew they had a better chance of winning with him on the team. you might want to sit this one out

@ShonenVentures @TomMarsLaw The current injunction would be enforced in Lubbock. Only a federal antitrust case would move to Dallas, and that the grounds to file that hasn’t happened yet.

A super majority of the Big 12 directors (schools) already have almost unlimited discretion to sanction Texas Tech. What’s more, they also have the authority to amend the Big 12 Bylaws at any time to specifically require the immediate suspension or dismissal of any school which knowingly plays an athlete who has admitted to placing bets on his own team.

I'm told Texas Tech would consider legal action if athletic programs and/or conferences try to exclude them from competition or hinder their scheduling.

@OneFlyMule @JarodBonine @bretthbayne But it’s makes Texas the most likely venue doesn’t it? I can’t tell the future, neither can you, but I can reason what the most likely outcome is.

@jonkappes1985 @JarodBonine @bretthbayne This case will be decided by the Big 12 bylaws & whether they’re allowed to punish members. Venue will matter & under the same Section you posted earlier, where Big 12 could argue change of venue. Just bc Texh is in TX doesn’t guarantee the venue.

@olivia_duh @ChadBrendel The August prior to the date of the article is 2025. The August immediately prior the 2025 football season is also 2025. You idiots can’t use calendars either?!?!?

Prohibet notifies the school and conference any time there is an alert. Cincinnati handled it exactly by the book. Unfortunately Sorsby lied and deceived the compliance department when confronted. Curious. Why didn't Tech know he was committing federal wire fraud?
Jon Kappes@jonkappes1985

@ChadBrendel So Cincinnati was alerted to his gambling but didn’t report it to the NCAA, but it’s ok? That’s your take?

Nebraska and Cincinnati fans traded a lot of banter last season, but for the most part, everyone was pretty cool about both dishing it out and taking it. Even the most heated exchanges usually ended on good terms, if not downright friendly. I knew there was a reason I liked Nebraska.

@jonkappes1985 @TomMarsLaw Threats are used by attorneys all the time. That doesn't mean damages would be awarded - particularly with an unsympathetic "victim"

@jonkappes1985 @OneFlyMule @bretthbayne Go read any federal complaint against a corporate defendant. Every one will state where the corporate defendant is incorporated because it’s relevant to both personal jurisdiction and venue. I don’t have enough characters to fully explain.

@JarodBonine @OneFlyMule @bretthbayne The statute states where any defendant resides, and conference members reside in multiple states. You know this venue will be decided by the fact that the league and Tech are both located in Texas. Folks never trust a lawyer with enough free time to be on twitter!

@jonkappes1985 @OneFlyMule @bretthbayne You don’t know what you’re talking about. Where a corporate defendant resides under fed law is the state of incorporation (somewhere in Delaware) and the location of its principal office in the state (Dallas). State of incorporation is highly relevant for jurisdiction & venue

@ShonenVentures @TomMarsLaw Better be able to to prove he actually broke it and it’s not a back end way to treat him as ineligible due to all of this nonsense, otherwise he’s coming for damages. Have you read the court order or kessler’s letter to the big 12 today?

@jonkappes1985 @TomMarsLaw Don't be dense. If Tech were to find Sorsby violated any team rule whatsoever, they would be able to suspend him for it. Tech is only using this crap as a fig leaf to cover for their desperate desire for FB relevancy at all cost.

@T__Baloney @superjmstone @ChadBrendel You’re a special boy aren’t you Tony? Sorsby filed the motion but UC was represented at the hearing. I’m saying your corrupt school dropped non-public information as soon as it was obvious the kid was fully gone from their program. Take your Ritalin so you can keep up

@jonkappes1985 @superjmstone @ChadBrendel Lol. Sorsby filed the motion. Not UC. You're saying UC had a guy write a hit piece on themselves when Sorsby was trying to have the lawsuit dismissed? That must be some Texas Tech level of logic.

@jonkappes1985 @TomMarsLaw Sorsby has no leg to stand on when it comes to "playing" at Tech. The coach could just say that in his judgement as the HC of the team, that Sorsby isn't ready, or that another player gives the team the best chance to win. Period. Heck he could violate a team rule tomorrow.

@T__Baloney @superjmstone @ChadBrendel Yup, and the day they knew max media attention would be on the case. But they didn’t know he was gambling right? Sorsby must have outed himself in some weird 5d chess move. Cincinnati can’t be as corrupt as they look?!?!?

@jonkappes1985 @ColonelRebel87 @bretthbayne Besides... the irreparable damage has already been done to Sorsby's reputation. Dude is a pariah now which doesn't bode well for his NFL aspirations. This ruling puts the squeeze on Tech. They have to pay him, but at the same time keep him on the sidelines, so no ROI.

@jonkappes1985 @JarodBonine @bretthbayne The defendant would be the Big 12 and could ask to have the case moved to federal district & argue Delaware is the correct district, assuming their by-laws established said actions.
