Copywriting tip: if a woman does a brilliant job of leading an entire country for five years, do not frame the news of her stepping down as 'see, this proves women can't have careers'. Words have power. Use them better.

Well, I tried to act like a normal grown up today at my first ever PTA meeting. I gestured too wildly while talking and spilled a cup of tea over myself. Nicely done.

Tried to cool down a chai latte by blowing on it. Suddenly the cafe table was covered in cinnamon. My phone was coated in cinnamon. I suspect most of North Leeds may be lightly dusted in cinnamon.

A few nice things this week: - Sold a copy of my 2nd book - Heard from a reader who enjoyed my writing - A friend had a dream about one of my books, which is a new one but it's going on my CV Grateful for the small wins, the not-so-showy aspects of writing that make it so fun

Just hit 80,000 words on my current WIP. Which is one of those things writers tweet about all the time, and I do wonder if everyone else thinks we're a bit weird for it. But 80,000 is a key milestone for this one, so I'm celebrating it!
