@revsully @nerd_cookies Re. An adaptation better than the books - the best example is Bridgerton. The show is a smash hit, that's inclusive (in multiple ways)and well structured. I read one of the books after watching and...lemme tell you, Shondaland did some magic with some really bad source material😂
English

@revsully @nerd_cookies I've just finished S2 so am obviously scanning the socials to see what everyone's saying! I haven't read the books so am desperately waiting for S3 to find out more, and hope it fills in some holes people who have read the books say are missing.

@cfs_jo Fun fact: my best friends mum's middle name is actually Gale. Her dad was sent to register her name, knew the name they'd decided on, didn't realise the name and the weather had different spellings, and she's been stuck with it for 65 years 🤦🏻♀️😂

@sharrond62 Perhaps the big businesses employing people who also claim Universal Credit should pay their workers more. Taxpayers aren’t subsidising shirkers they’re subsidising CEOs and Shareholders.

This is an equation that’s just not sustainable 👇🏼
Bernie@Artemisfornow
UK - More than half of the UK population is getting MORE from the state than contributes to the state. Unsustainable and catastrophic.

@DianaBr95650186 @Sean_Butler1 I've seen it reported that it's going to be between -5 and -10°C - so, as much as I'd like to tease trump for being soft, I think this is more about the huge group of people gathered and keeping them safe.
English

@Sean_Butler1 What's the definition of dangerously cold in this context?
English

@zarahandley Fairly sure that's a nook to put your microwave, in case you need emergency outdoor soup reheating facilities 👍🏻

@SusanCalman @channel5_tv Sat down to catch up, and something seems a little...different about you, Susan? Have you changed your hair? 🤔
😂

@TinyWriterLaura If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times, an acid (cider vinegar) plus an alkali (alkalized water) makes WATER. They neutralise each other! What an expensive joke! For want of a chemistry GCSE, just think of all the faff he could save himself! 😂😂

why are his almonds activated and his vegetables cultured? that’s what i want to know. what happened to unactivated almonds and plebeian veg

Fuck. Off. Not only is this likely 95% bollocks, it is also just another sneaky way to beat people over the head for not having the temerity to be born middle class or “worldly”. Exclusionary language and implied scorn for only being able to afford frozen food. Hate this shit
English

@cfs_jo I was just surprised that Yorkshire tea would want someone not only from, but named, Lancashire in their adverts! 🤷🏻♀️😂😂
English

@jacktism_ I'd be impressed if before the next general election he can get himself nominated to be a Labour or tory constituency MP, win that election, work his way to the front benches, I dunno, table a motion of no confidence in the party leader? And then win that? That's a big ask.

@RevRichardColes When we were up there (as visiting teens a few summers in a row) a local took us to his church across on Scalpay. They were so welcoming to us, it was lovely, even though it felt like a totally different way of doing church to us 😊
English

@superTV247 Alison and Larry were always so natural together, and they've only got better with age!
English

Why do I feel like this wasn’t even scripted but just genuine joy 😭 I’m sobbing already, I’ll miss Pam and Mick more than anyone #GavinAndStacey
English

@RevRichardColes @channel5_tv @AcornTV Ooh! I was only listening to the Christmas one last week and wondering if there would be an adaptation 😄 excellent news, I look forward to it!!
English

@KatieFforde Yesterday's and today's(17&18) were FIENDISH, I tell you! I hadn't had problems until then!
English

@sewingbee As if we haven't all known this off by heart since 1998 😂

If your Christmas wish was to learn the Tragedy dance from H from Steps, you must have been really really good this year.

@superTV247 That's not true, they LITERALLY had Wallace & Gromit last week?!?! But. A very close second.

@benpartridge (Both about them as investors, and how they all view chronic illness)
English

@benpartridge The fact that absolutely none of them said, "Do these work? Have they been tested? Are you selling ill people something real?" And instead said, "wow, your profit margins are incredible," told me all I needed to know.

The episode of Dragon's Den where SB (and to be fair, all the other dragons and Gary Neville (?) too) all scrambled to invest in seeds you put in your ear to cure M.E. was one of the maddest things I've ever seen.
