@jplasen @Alex_PorterEnt I think dg + 1st round picks would be enough only cause at the moment bucks have no star player if they trade giannis
English

@VintageHoops From 1986 to 1996 just the most dominant baseline to baseline player in NBA. Go back to the 1986 WCF vs Lakers. He was giving the business to everyone. Watch Robert Reid's recap of how pissed Olajuwon was after their G1 loss to the Lakers back in 1986. Funny as hell.
English

@KingsLeadSM @BrettSiegelNBA If true the Clips would look to create a package that includes Maxime Raynaud. Don't think the Kings would do it but then again I didn't think they'd trade both Haliburton and Fox. But they did lol
English

The Kings interest in Darius Acuff Jr could potentially lead to the Clippers and Nets forcing the Kings to trade up for their preferred target, per @BrettSiegelNBA.
The Kings should not trade up. Please don’t.

English

It would take Kawhi + 1st round draft pick(s) to land GA. And even then assuming the Spurs and OKC stay relatively healthy the Clippers wouldn't boast a better team than those 2. Getting a superstar via draft is very unlikely. What is more likely drafting good players and luring a superstar to join via FA (i.e. Ant, Cade, Scottie Barnes)
English

@jplasen @Alex_PorterEnt Clippers have a way better chance of winning a ring with Kawhi and giannis versus developing a superstar with a young guy
English

@HelenYeeSports Jon Jones Bones. If you are see him in person you'll be in awe of his reach. Just isn't fair and then throw in his skill set.
English

@TyLawson3 9x All Star, 6 All NBA Selections and 4x All NBA Defense. Yeah he is making it. The HoF building has rooms in it. He doesn't have carte blanche access to all of the rooms in there. Just the BBQ patio area lol
English

@HARPER04_5 Either the league regulates it through fines and suspensions. Or let the players regulate it and allow much more physicality into the game. Either one works. Which is what Ron is alluding to.
English

#spurs #clippers this is why I thought ✋🏾 made sense for SA. He would’ve been the bucket getter they need. Yes Harper will be at a minimum a multiple time all star player. But when you have an opp to win you need to go all in. And they have Fox for a while.
Jplasen@jplasen
#clippers I'm for trading their assets. In SA Harper sticks out. SA will have cap issues once Wemby & Castle rookie contracts exp. KL makes sense for them. They currently don't have proven bucket getter. But min Clips need to move Zu for draft capital and target should be OKC.
English

Seattle was athletic just didn't have a go to player to score when it mattered. That's why this team was eliminated 3x in 1st round (all in their prime) and were the first time a #1 seed lost to an #8th seed. As great as GP was he wasn't a true scorer. Kemp could shoot 15 footers in 1Q but didn't even look at the rim outside of 10 feet in the 4Q. But they were exciting to see in regular season.
English

@hoopshype @swish41 @NBAonPrime Dirk was great. But he also played with Nash, Finley, Juwan Howard, Antawn Jamison, Antoine Walker, Josh Howard through 2004 time frame. Those Mav teams could score in bunches just couldn't defend.
English

@NBAOfficial @NBA Seriously you are ruining your brand letting Hartenstein hold Wemby that much. It is literally every single time down the floor. That's embarrassing for a global sport like this. @NBC_Peacock showed like 5 no-calls. Use halftime to address it with officiating crew.
English

@Alex_PorterEnt Beyond dumb trade. Only half the players drafted in round 1 are still playing after 5 years in nba. 80% success rate of having an nba career > 5 years are taken in top 10. You want the clippers to reduce their odds considerably by taking lu Dort?
English

I presented this option before.
If the Clippers can get Lu Dort, 12th & 17th picks from OKC for the 5th pick, then that’s a win for the Clippers.
They can then draft two possible very young impact players like Mara and Burries. That would be the golden ticket.
Kevin O'Connor@KevinOConnor
It would definitely be shocking if the Thunder use all three picks. I'd expect them to move up as Windy suggested, or use just #12 and trade away #17 and #37 for future draft capital. The Clippers (#5), Mavs (#9), and Bucks (#10) are the most realistic trade down teams.
English

I've said this repeatedly that Houston did the greatest fumble of all sports franchises. Dream wasn't a marketable player. Soft spoken and shied away from personal stats. But nasty on the court. Baseline to baseline the most dominant player ever in my eyes. Wemby has the chance to overtake him but it's too early in his career. If Houston had surrounded him with shooters for his first 9 years he'd been viewed much differently.
English

I watched Wemby dominate last night and was in awe the entire time. He looked like the best player in the NBA.
But then I see these takes and they just go completely overboard.
In Hakeem Olajuwon’s first three years in the NBA, he had a 49/25 game with 6 blocks in the playoffs.
He had a bunch of other 30+ point performances in his first three seasons while playing elite defense.
We have never seen a player move and shoot like this at Wemby’s height. If he stays healthy, he has a chance to be one of the all-time greats.
But he is 22. And now we are already naming him the #1 pick in an all-time draft?
I feel like best player in the league at 22 is more than enough at this point.

shoebox@jjss64
If we are starting a nba league from scratch and every player in the history of the league is available, is Wemby the number 1 pick overall?? Ahead of Jordan, ahead of Lebron?
English

If you are MIL you are looking for picks and very short-term contracts to make the $'s work. So if you move Giannis to NYK you'd pursue KAT's contract but a whole lot of picks. Same from MN. Pursue McDaniels and Randle but get a lot of future picks. You definitely can trade McDaniels sooner rather than later and even increase your draft capital.
English

@jplasen @NoTechBen Yah I don’t think Milwaukee is gunna like the return for any Giannis trade. No one’s trading a young borderline all star for him
English

@IdeaTwist @NoTechBen I agree with you. Long run it's Chet. Just saying if MIL and OKC trade that would be the assets required. I wouldn't trade CH for 31 year old Giannis who is injury prone.
English

@jplasen @NoTechBen Thunder will never trade chet.
I think Chet has more trade value than giannis. He’s the 2nd best stretch big in the NBA. Much more likely to have a good team with Chet than giannis
English

@bluelemxnade Kobe was better. But don't forget Kobe wasn't just imposing his will on SAS. Tim Duncan had 330lbs of all kinds of trouble occupying his attention and spacing.
English

it's a major sports town. Players will go to Chicago. Also, they revamped their front office and got great talent subsequently (Pip & Grant). Cleveland last chance to draft well during LBJ's 1st tenure was in 2004. They drafted Luke Jackson. Bypassing players like Al Jefferson, Josh Smith and JR Smith. There's a reason why SA and OKC find themselves more times than not competing even w/o major FA acquisitions. They draft well. So did Chicago under Krause. And Chicago could piece together players around their core team because players didn't mind playing there. Would be much different if it was Cleveland, Milwaukee, Vancouver, UT, NO or Memphis.
English

@OKChiefsOVO @jjss64 Jordan or Kobe weren't drafted by Cleveland. Imagine if LBJ was drafted to a major destination city or if Kobe had stayed w Charlotte.
