I read a lot. I called my firends and we all met up at the park. Or they'd come over and we'd play some sort of modified baseball in the front yard (modified so we wouldn't break windows). Or we'd just go ride our bikes around. Play with our action figures. Play board games. Eventually we got Atari, or ColecoVision or Intellivision, or even Apple 2 computers and we started playing video games at home instead of at the arcade. Once we could drive we'd head down into the city and hang around there too. We went to dances, sports events, would go wade in the creek, catch frogs in Lake Louise, swing at the school playground. Explore the town and find out where all the streets actually went.
There was always *something* to do, if we wanted.
