you’re right. @X did the same thing to me a few months ago, they sent an unauthorized login code to my number and somehow used it. when i checked the settings in my account, i saw that there were no logins from anywhere. the next day they banned my account. then when i asked for support, x forced me to get premium just to reach a real person. i’m starting to think they’re doing this on purpose

Friend, this issue has been going on since around 2022. This is just my assumption, but back then they couldn’t really monetize the system because Meta Verified didn’t exist. Due to U.S. regulations, they seem to handle even the smallest suspected violation by disabling accounts. When your account or someone else’s gets disabled, the chance of reaching Meta by email is probably less than 1%. Millions of accounts are disabled every day, and if even 100,000 of those users purchase Verified just to access live support—and those support cases drag on for months—that becomes a huge source of revenue. It feels like they have built the entire system around pushing people toward Verified subscriptions. Do you really think they aren’t aware of what’s happening? The other day I was browsing Reddit and came across an Instagram page posting explicit pornographic content. I reported it for sexual content, but Instagram responded that it did not violate their policies and left the account active. Yet they can disable accounts like yours or mine, which are used only to communicate with friends and family and have never violated any rules or laws. To me, Meta has become a part of a capitalist system that prioritizes profit over users. I hope a strong competitor to Instagram eventually emerges and forces them to change these practices. Personally, I believe Meta is fully aware of what is happening. The more I think about it, the more it seems intentional. I’ve been fighting this for months, but at this point I feel like I’m wasting my time because I don’t believe they are ever going to resolve the issue.

two months ago, i received a verification code from @X to my phone number that i never sent, and the following day my account, which i had been using for 6 years, was closed on the grounds that it was suspicious. i couldn’t reach anyone to deal with, and they never reopened it. three days ago, two of my @instagram accounts were also suspended without any email or notification. one of them was my personal private account that i had been using for more than 13 years, and the other was a verified account linked to my company in the us, which i had been actively using for months. again, i was unable to reach anyone in any way. @Meta i don’t know where this is all heading. you are victimizing hundreds of thousands of people. in the end, you will be the ones who lose.
