@defcon @shellphish @SCAI_ASU I'm thankful for everyone on @Shellphish, but want to give a special shout out to our new captain, @zolutal! This was zolutal's first quals leading us, and it went great! And, as always, @zanardi, who founded the team decades ago and still gives it his all every quals!

Today, I participated in @DEFCON Quals #CTF with @Shellphish! After missing last year's quals due to family traditions (@Zardus/112378834023606154" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">defcon.social/@Zardus/112378…), it was great to be back! We got 5th place and (unless our calculations are off) are heading to finals!

@jvanegue I never played much with spec exec, but many years ago I toyed with a rowhammer exploit and was surprised at how reliable it was. The drawbacks, IMO, were the scope of targets (DRAM) and needing to build a HW profile upfront. Other than that, I think it's actually understated!

Rowhammer and speculative execution attacks are too noisy to provide any meaningful path to elevation of privilege. Prove me wrong! (Not by pointing at a paper)

@jvanegue I've only read bits and pieces of it, but the Qiskit Textbook seems pretty solid (although quite succint): qiskit.org/learn - Unit 2 is where the algorithm part begins

Looking for good books on quantum algorithms. A relevant contender is "Introduction to Quantum Algorithms via Linear Algebra" (2021 ed) by Lipton & Regan. What other good quantum algorithms resources do you recommend? Looking for something in between intro and research papers.
