Then proceeds to go on radio and say he has the right to call out Marte for taking days off. If only he treated each player to the same standard.

Several industry sources have told me that Ketel Marte will not be traded to any other team. I've also been told that there are currently no issues between Ketel and the D-backs, and that some of the stories circulating on social media are simply not true. As for the game in which he did not play against Ohtani, Marte was dealing with general body soreness, so there is nothing to be concerned about. "Marte isn't going anywhere," one source said.

@TimCowlishaw Dying on a hill stating "No one can explain to me why betting on your own team is bad", is already stupid enough. But then getting upset with people that make good points because they are affiliated with a gambling app, just proves your bias from the get go.

Look, Daniel, I don’t think it’s a great idea to bet on your own team. I wanted to hear people explain why. Only a few here had any idea why it might be bad. But I don’t think leagues and networks, like yours, in bed now with gambling can propose 1950s style penalties.

@TimCowlishaw So you are going to be able to enforce who he tells what and how much he bet? It’s really messy. Can he use a bookie? What if he gets itch to bet big? Isn’t this how every sports gambling scandal gets started? You can’t dip your toe in this stuff. Too risky.

@TimCowlishaw If you’re willing to bet on your own team, the barrier to betting against your team and acting in ways conducive to your own financial reward is as tall as a blade of grass. And you’re asking 18-22 year olds to be able to have that type of impossible restraint.

I’ve never had an issue paying players- above or under the table. It is what is. But you can’t bet on your own sport & team as a CFB player. That sets a very dangerous precedent. No other way to say it. I’m not saying he can’t have an NFL career but there has to be some meaningful punishment here.
