@schmidtim A very competitive series. I would go as far as to say that that they batted and bowled as well as the Aussies for long periods. Their catching cost them the second test and tests 1 and 3 would have been closer had they held onto chances.

Our paper on a new mechanism in the atmospheric chemistry appeared today in Nature Chem! rdcu.be/dgd7F It reports reactions that are like combustion reactions in the atmosphere. We expect this will be a general class of reactions, with unknown impact. @KableGroup_UNSW

Interesting! 12 years ago, Melbourne was away ahead of Sydney with myki. Sydney's Opal card had been announced in 2000 but was only after a change in government that it actually started to work ca 2012. Now you can also tap with a credit card in Sydney. What happened with Myki?

@ARC_Tracker Unless things changed since I was on the college, the GAs must grade to a pre-defined distribution: ~50% A-C & 50% D,E. Many GAs would like to grade As and Bs, but, ultimately, it is about ranking at the GA level. ~90% of Detailed Ass. scores are As & Bs = no discrimination.

I agree Lars! Comp. science is crucial to understanding all great advances. Cannot imagine quantum computing sans theory, biotech - bioinformatics, medicine - statistics, and all forms of chemistry without comp chem. That why I hired 3 into our School! @UNSWScience #compchem
