Big congratulations to Durham County, slowest COVID-19 growth rate over the past week of all of NC's big counties: 8% daily increases, less than double the cases over the past week. A little bit slower and we will see reductions in cases.
NEW: CDC guidance on masks expected to change in next 10 days. Americans will be advised to wear masks in everyday life. Current recommendation is for high-risk groups only.
While vast majority of deaths from #COVID19 are age 60+ many young adults and middle aged Americans are becoming seriously ill and surviving only after prolonged hospitalizations and ICU admissions that have long term consequences. This is a dangerous virus for most age groups.
Without a favorable change in US slope (= doubling time of 2.6 days), there will be
10,000 deaths by April 3rd
100,000 deaths by April 12th (Easter Sunday)
