I don't mean to overdo the historic parallelism bit, but the Iran-Iraq War started with Saddam invading at what he thought was an opportune time of internal strife in Iran, only to run straight into an operational dead-end days into the war. He tried to sue for peace almost immediately, but Khomeini smelled an opportunity to forge a new regime in war and conquest. He in turn overplayed his hand to where the entire Gulf aligned against him. To counter them, he kicked off a transnational wave of terrorism and proliferation etc etc etc

@policytensor The Arabian plate is converging with the Eurasian so the Hormuz strait will close by itself in a few millions years effectively rendering this entire issue irrelevant.

So let’s get this straight: every single one of #Iran’s nuclear activities has been under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency, and Iran has not used its missiles or drones to attack any country. Meanwhile, the so-called Israeli regime, widely believed to possess nuclear weapons, does not allow any #IAEA inspections, yet continues bombing and carrying out assassinations across multiple countries in the region.
The schools, hospitals, and factories that were bombed by the United States and the Israeli regime were not hidden underground; everyone saw them being struck in plain sight.
For over twenty years, the world has been told the same story about an “imminent Iranian nuclear threat.” And now, suddenly, there is an attack. Why now? Because there is an administration in the United States that appears to have embraced Netanyahu’s narrative, disrupting the global economy and costing thousands of lives in the process.
You know as well as we do that Iran is not a threat to any country, while Israel is the greatest threat in the world. But for both obvious and hidden reasons, you have been willing to sacrifice Americans for Israel.

This is indeed one of the routes currently in use to supply the RSF through Libya by the LAAF - though primarily in fuel as Chad does not have any to spare for the RSF.
Heavy diversion of fuel for smuggling purposes actually provoked a fuel crisis in East Libya in past weeks.
