@JFreshHockey These are beautiful unto themselves but agree. Too many blue and red teams in the NHL.

@wyshynski Hayton is not playing tonight. Those forward lines in the practice skate are not the forward lines that will be in play at game time.

@TimCPeel20 @SiriusXMNHL @GordStellick Respectfully disagree with your disagreement particularly relative to his embellishment points. He is correct to believe it is impossible to accurately officiate an NHL game by live on ice officials wo review. If it was possible, it would be done by now.

I respectfully disagree. I have so much respect for Rod. He always treated me with the utmost respect when I officiated him as a player and as a coach. I was listening to @SiriusXMNHL and @GordStellick had a great point. “The good teams always find a way to win” We have I think the perfect number of reviews right now. Anymore will turn our games into 3 hour games. Our game is in a great place right now. Enjoy the rest of the #StanleyCupPlayoffs

There’s always an extra ref at every playoff game, too. May as well put him to use

How do you make $13M disappear? Put Mitch Marner in a tough playoff game.

@Madi39 It's astonishing the amount of people who don't realize the issue is getting the call right. On this one, it may have been accidental that they got it right but...they got it right.

doesn’t feel like anything will ever change with #NHL playoff format, but both WC2 getting swept certainly strengthens the argument for a play-in. Maybe a different WC2 gives top seed a better run. Maybe?

@MFT801 There were two trials. He was found guilty by the media and public opinion. In the actual trial it was found the plaintiff was unreliable and dishonest and he was found not guilty.

Somebody explain the Carter Hart thing to me. I thought he like got away with a serious crime but after seeing Knights fans defend him I looked it up and he got acquitted cause they couldn’t provide enough evidence? Why do we hate him then? Genuine question.

@Ana_L_Beads_CFB @koho7777 @xdabluesfan @SlavBritt So if you’re watching from somewhere that isn’t Minnesota or Dallas than you call it Minnesota game 3? And Dallas game 3? There’s already a name for those games

@xdabluesfan @CCross03 @Ana_L_Beads_CFB @SlavBritt I guess but that's not what the games are. There are 7 games in a playoff series. Each of them are named accordingly. Coming up with a separate name for something that's already been named...ok? but hey..I don't really care if everyone's happy and there's no confusion carry on.

@CCross03 @koho7777 @Ana_L_Beads_CFB @SlavBritt Like I said, because when people buy a playoff strip they would get tickets that say 3, 4 & 6 and many would get confused as to why they are missing tickets. Home Game 1, 2 & 3 less confusing because a very large majority of people are not going to away games.

@SlavBritt When in the history of 7 game series has the 3rd game of the series been “if necessary”? Learn to read/critically think and stop blaming others for your lack of attention to detail

@RandBall It's not savvy...it's crap...the NHL needs to reinvent how they officiate hockey games.

Remember Eriksson Ek drawing the penalty that led to the pp Wild goal if this turns out well for Minnesota. Savvy play to lift Roberston's stick and then sell the contact like he was hit with a cannonball

Alright, on John Chayka’s exit from Arizona and the draft combine violation… Here’s what I know. 1. On his resignation…. Chayka asks for permission to talk to another team, believe it’s NJ. Arizona initially says no, then they let him. He gets a massive offer. Too big to turn down. Arizona is, despite giving him permission, upset. Won’t let him leave right away, want him to stay through playoffs. Chayka agrees to stay through playoffs, but wants to put a succession plan in place so he can leave after. Arizona say nah, we’ll deal with that later. Relationship went sour immediately, John Chayka terminates his contract. Arizona runs to the league demanding punishment. Bettman suspends him for a year and the whole fiasco cost him his opportunity. A few years later they’re playing in Mullett Arena where John Chayka would have been running a trade deadline out of a janitor’s closet had he stuck around. 2. On the scouting violation… The violation is framed everywhere as physical testing, like Arizona ran a private illegal camp. I’ve read several articles. Sounded like they ran a private prospect camp before the combine. According to The Athletic, the violation was asking players to show up to their pre-combine interviews wearing shorts and a t-shirt, as well as the Coyotes bringing their head of fitness as part of their squad to ask prospects questions about their diet and exercise. Arizona took no measurements, conducted no tests. That’s it. That’s the violation. I haven’t looked up the previous CBA to see how it’s worded, but some executives in the NHL felt it was open to interpretation and they revised the wording in the next CBA. The rule states it’s a team fine, but Bettman didn’t want to fine the failing Coyotes because it would have been in the millions, so he charged them 2 picks (a 1st and a 2nd), which obviously hurts and looks worse to the fans. Can’t absolve him of any responsibility whatsoever but the way he’s being talked about as some disgraced GM is, in my opinion, blown way out of proportion by people who don’t know what really happened. Not that I claim to have the full picture either, but that’s what I know. Most of it’s from Friedge (on his resignation) or The Athletic (on the scouting violation).

@mcclxskey @logopatt Haven’t dug into it, no. There are always details, reasons, excuses, idk… Why are the Toronto Maple Leafs hot on the trial of 2 guys who haven’t worked in the league for 6 & 12 years + a few AGM’s no one had heard of before now? Can this organization no longer do any better?
