One of the special things about Christmas time this year was both kids spontaneously singing clips of Christmas hymns to themselves.

"And through all His wondrous childhood He would honour and obey, Love and watch the lowly maiden, In whose gentle arms He lay: Christian children all must be Mild, obedient, good as He."

It's an unfair thought, but when I sing this verse of "Once in Royal David's City" I imagine the hymn writer desperately trying to finish the song in time for Christmas while the kids are running around the house, not listening, and getting into a row with each other:
