@chochlo @MrJDexter Full scholarships used to be given to all specialist musicians. Now it’s means tested. Can’t afford to send our kids to a specialist private music school. Lucky we have the ONLY state specialist music school in UK -Douglas Academy!

@MrJDexter The lifestyle of an outstanding musician is challenging for any school to accommodate if it’s not specifically set up for it. Full scholarships are available, but there’s still much more to do to make high level music more accessible, including far better funding for schools.

@silverlawn @frasercontra @susantomespiano Then the recording engineers or someone needs to take a good look at the set up. I know some of these players and they sound nothing like how they did in the program. It wasn’t the standard I’d expect from BBC

I don't remember hearing a higher standard at #bbcyoungmusician than I heard in last night's audition round, which produced several potential winners. I like the format changes too. Why is this inspiring programme not being shown on BBC1 or BBC2?
