Last two weeks, a cousin of mine came to spend the weekend at my place, I went all out. Good meals, snacks, everything set. Even made sure there was enough data so we could stream comfortably. The day they left, I picked up my bag and noticed it felt lighter. My power bank is missing. Charger is gone. Even small things like toothpaste and tissue are missing. Went into the kitchen and noticed that this person cut a tuber of yam into two halves and left with the other half. But guess who still gave ‘transport money’ with a smile? At this point, hosting people is at your own risk.

It's not just using ATM card that she can steal from you. If she has your details, she can steal from you. You didn’t do anything wrong by questioning her behaviour but you should not have given her your ATM card and pin. She can arrange boys to jack you up and rob you - she knows your pin, abi? She crossed a boundary by checking your balance and taking more than she asked for. Trust is key in any relationship, and it’s not okay for anyone to assume they can just take what they want, especially without permission.

My friend asked me to lend her 10k. I tried to transfer from my bank app but it kept reversing. Because I was busy, I gave her my ATM to go withdraw at a POS across the street... Next thing I received a debit alert of 30k... She came back smiling and said "babe you get money ooooo.... Abeg na 30k I withdraw.... That's the actual amount I need... I go pay you" I was infuriated and asked her why she checked my account balance and even withdrew more than she asked for... We had an argument and next thing she threw the entire money on my table and left.... Please did I do anything wrong questioning why she checked my account balance and took more than she asked for???

For me, it wasn't easy adjusting to her feisty personality. It took a while. Although sometimes I still find myself saying, kai! This Ezinne girl dey ment.
