On 4/29, Deputy Fire Chief Dennis Breshears officially hung up his turnouts for the last time. Spanning a 33-year career from the OCFA, to Monrovia Fire, to the #LACoFD, Chief Breshears rose through the ranks from FF to Deputy Fire Chief. Congrats & best wishes in retirement! 🎉

National Fallen FFs Memorial 🚒🕊️💔 Join the #LACoFD as we remember the bravery & sacrifice of our fallen FFs at the 2026 National Fallen FFs Memorial. This year, LACoFD Captain David Gonzalez, FFS William Lenzen & FF Dustin Roberto are on the roll of honor. #NeverForget

Last week, the City of Bellflower honored #LACoFD FFs at the 30th annual BRAVO Awards Ceremony. Members of the Bellflower City Council were joined by AFC Khoi Dao to honor Captain Kevin Clerisse, FFS Brandon Rooney & FFs Anthony Wilborn, Derek Norman & Ras Sanders.   Congrats!

Professional Staff Day Shout out to the #LACoFD Training Services Division for an amazing Professional Staff Day last Tuesday (April 21st)! 🚒 Our team loved the hands-on experience at the Headquarters Training Center and a special lunch thanks to Camp 2. #OneTeamOneMission

On 4/22, the #LACoFD honored the achievements of 11 FFs who successfully completed the Paramedic Training Institute as part of Class 272. The Training and Emergency Medical Services Bureau joined family, friends & colleagues to celebrate our newest paramedics. Congrats!

On Saturday, April 25, @LACoFireAirOps Copter 55 responded to assist our partners @OCFireAuthority on the Carbon Fire near the City of Brea. Copter 55 made three drops for a total of 5,700 gallons of water and the fire was held at 209 acres.

Today, #LACoFD Fire Chief Anthony C. Marrone joined w/colleagues, family & friends to celebrate the 2026 Valor & Exemplary Service Awards Ceremony honoring remarkable team members for unwavering acts of heroism, bravery & admirable service. Congrats to all of today’s honorees!🎉

On Sunday, April 26, 2026, the #LACoFD will recognize team members for their bravery and commitment at the 2026 Valor and Exemplary Service Awards Ceremony. Congratulations to all the team members who will be honored at tomorrow’s ceremony!

Today, the #LACoFD commemorates the 111th Anniversary of the #ArmenianGenocide & prays for all who perished. We stand in solidarity in paying tribute to the perseverance of those who survived & remember the resilience of our incredible Armenian communities around the world.

2/2 200 piles of previously cut & piled vegetation were individually ignited & closely monitored by 200 FFs. Strategic fuel reduction is an essential tool for the prevention of wildfires. Planned pile burns are carefully managed to reduce smoke impacts & improve wildland health.

1/2 Santa Monica Mountains Prescribed Pile Burn 🔥 This past Monday, @MRCAParks collaborated with the #LACoFD for a low intensity pile burn along Summit-to-Summit Motorway in Topanga Canyon, Santa Monica Mountains.

Last week, #LACoFD FS 118 & 145 FFs participated alongside the CHP for the Every 15 Minutes Program at Rowland Heights HS. This two-day program, challenges HS students to think about drinking & driving, safety, making mature decisions & the impact their decisions have on others.

2026 Explorer Disaster Drill🚒🔥 Today, 108 #LACoFD #Explorers received training on hose advancement, extinguishing fires, auto extrication, wildland fire tactics, rappelling, & exposure to HM & USAR equipment. Thank you to the Disaster Drill Committee for a successful event.

It was a great morning spent with Supervisor @LindseyPHorvath @TCEP90290 along with local communities and agencies for the Topanga Evacuation Drill.

1/2 A Prescribed Pile Burn is planned for Monday (4/20) in the Santa Monica Mountains. Prescribed pile burns are effective tools in preventing large, destructive wildfires. These planned burns are carefully managed to reduce smoke impacts and improve wildland health.

Dry, warm, and gusty Santa Ana winds are developing over SW California today and will linger through Saturday. Changes coming next week with light to locally moderate rain sometime between Mon and Wed, with Tue having the highest chances. #cawx
