A tsunami advisory is in effect for LA County with expected impacts to beaches, harbors, ports, and waterways beginning around 1 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30. Please stay away from these areas due to strong currents/waves in or near coastal waters. According to the U.S. Tsunami Warning Center, waves of 1 foot or less are expected to reach LA beaches and waterways. The advisory is now issued for the entire west coast and it is the middle tier of the Tsunami Warning Center’s alert system. Residents should monitor local news reports and sign up for alerts at Alert.LACounty.gov.

@LAFD Actually, the entire fire ended up burning outside of the open space parkland boundaries, most likely on private property. We manage a narrow swath of land on the hill known as Elephant Hill. Chief Ranger Gomez was onsite to confirm.
