@RobertRoe01 @mmcolom @TheLaurenChen @Chiuchiyin Except the fact that China has supassed the US in technology, science and manufacturing and did 10 years ago, whilst having sufficient domestic demand to self-sustain these industries. You're 25 years out of date old man.

The Chinese economy is almost entirely an extension of the American economy who moved its manufacturing there. Take that away and china collapses. It will already collapse in time due to restoring because of demographic collapse. Anything “nice” in china was paid for by Americans and it will disappear relatively soon.

The UK government appears unable to create growth or wealth. Instead it runs a rationing system, dividing up what’s already there rather than making more of it.

The speed limit for motorways / dual carriageways should be 60mph. Safer and more fuel efficient than driving at 70mph and, at a mile a minute, easy to estimate journey times.

@DLoesch @chadfelixg Every day it becomes more and more clear that most issues in the West could be resolved if we stopped importing third worlders completely. And started actually putting criminals in prison. But noooo. Instead we pass blasphemy laws to appease followers of a desert death cult.

I had a good friend tell me the apps I created were trash because I didn't have a formal database. I took that as a challenge. In 5 hours, I personally built, populated, and deployed a database containing all the content the company and analysts created over the past 15 years, press quotes, and social media posts, with integrated semantic and basic search and auto-updates. And is scalable to 10x the data. Tested it with 1,000 different queries that users would make. It works. :-) Now it's time to connect the apps I created with embedded data to the new database. It cost me around $200 in tokens. Ironically, the most expensive part was scrubbing ten years of press quotes. Still a better deal than Meltwater or Muckrack. The next step is to inject proprietary and protected data into it, with proper safeguards and attribution.

I know people like the 40K animations and so on. But then I think of like, game intros from 10 years ago and how fucking hard ACV goes, and its like... I feel we're still quite far from seeing the raw energy of what an Imperial Guard deployment should be visually illustrated.

@artmarkham @anon_opin Not really, if a child runs out 3 foot in front of your car then you can't cheat physics. Even at 20 you're not stopping in that time. Apart from very dense residential streets such as cities, London etc where it's already 20mph, 30 mph such as suburbs is fine.

@let_me_atom @anon_opin Well, "as long as you're otherwise driving sensibly" is the whole point. Very often, it isn't sensible to drive 30 down a residential street even if that's the limit. It depends on the street. But if there's "nothing you can do" if a child runs out, that suggests you're too fast.

Vast majority of people drive irresponsibly in built up residential areas. The speed limit isn't a target. If a child runs out into the road and you're doing 30 mph down one of those roads, it's on you.

@sainsburys Have you recently changed the Scotch eggs recipe or supplier? The old ones came in a resealable tray and tasted decent. The new ones come in a plastic wrapper and the sausage meat is dry, tough and is very evidently less of it.

The first thing the mob kills is its own humanity. Long before they sink their collective claws into the target of their flapping ire, they lay waste to their own decency. We see this in the digital hounding of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. Behold the ugly gloating over a man’s downfall. Witness the peddling of false accusations. The shame, right now, belongs less to Andrew than to those who have made a bloodsport from his troubles. ✍️ Brendan O’Neill Article | spectator.com/article/the-hu…
