@Bill10898 @AI_EmeraldApple Nah you’re good I just don’t have much time to talk on Twitter (currently taking notes) and I do want to answer but it’ll have to wait

@mac3golff @AI_EmeraldApple I apologize, I didn't mean to make a loaded question. It's just that I noticed that your definition of morality seems to be different from mine. I asked that out of curiosity, that's all.

This guy, EDPwatch, who has been catching real predators, protecting real victims, says his biggest W is getting blocked by an anime reviewer, Chibi Reviews. Chibi is an anime-centric content creator who is fighting for free speech and against censorship. EDP Watch runs its own real-life sting operations by creating fake underage profiles, chats with adults who attempt to meet minors, and then confronts them when they show up. Recently, EDPwatch has been having some obsession with policing anime/loli content, acting as if that content has a direct correlation to predatory behavior. Spoiler alert, it doesn't... Fantasy sexual material, such as drawings and animated content, shows no meaningful causal link, with some studies suggesting it actually reduces risk. On the other hand, REAL CSAM does HIGHLY correlate with offender behavior. Now the insinuation here is that a lot of predators also consume sexual lolicon content, and that's true, but it doesn't prove a correlation. Why? Because predators already consume a lot of taboo content broadly, from regular adult material, to violent material, to extreme content, and just happen to also have loli content. There is also a "Base-Rate" problem where millions consume loli content, especially in Japan, without ever offending or even coming close to it. You only see the overlap in the tiny slice of actual predators who have already been caught for real crimes. A lot of people like EDP and Schlep, who catch predators, use evidence of loli content existing within the offender's library as "correlation" to offending behavior, when there are no meaningful connections. They also consume a lot of other content, such as taboo 'banned' horror, cult movies, and other illegal content, but no one fixates on that. They instead fixate just on the loli stuff, treating it like a smoking gun, when there are tons of other problematic edgy media in the offender's hard drives... again, that's just selective moral panic. The sad part of this is how EDP watch went full clown mode when his whole brand was catching real predators. It just goes to show how many of these "predator catchers" like EDP and Schlep drift from actual victim protection into culture wars.

@Bill10898 @AI_EmeraldApple Honestly I have to agree I’m not really changing your mind and you clearly aren’t changing mine. Your question about morality is loaded but I will respond to it when I have more free time to think than I do right now

@mac3golff @AI_EmeraldApple Tbh, I only agree with like, 10% of what you said. But this discussion isn't going anywhere if we keep going back and fourth.

@Bill10898 @AI_EmeraldApple in sexualized position. That’s just sort of how it is. It’s not as bad as real CSEM and it’s still morally reprehensible either way.

@Bill10898 @AI_EmeraldApple I won’t pretend it’s impossible to enjoy fiction in a vacuum because some people do but the large large large majority of humans do not. If you enjoy consuming fiction of child presenting, appearing or coded characters in sexualized positions, you have a fantasy about children—

@Bill10898 @AI_EmeraldApple That said I don’t need to, want to, nor will I be explaining to you why gratification to drawings of children is bad. That’s a question you need to ask yourself or a therapist.

@Bill10898 @AI_EmeraldApple Specifically because the scene is heavily based around the book — sexualizing and obsessing over children. I mean, everything I’ve said is just the basic well known history of loli.
