Too bad the Catholic Church has almost NOTHING to do with the “church” Jesus “established.” (Important Note: Jesus didn’t establish any “church” as you would describe a “church”). The “church” that Jesus spoke of are the BELIEVERS and FOLLOWERS of the Truth of the Word of God and the Commandments/Torah of God. The word translated as “church” in the Holy Bible from both the Hebrew and Greek languages has nothing to do with institutionalized religion. The word simply describes a gathering together of believers—a body of believers and keepers of the Word/Commandments of God. That’s not the Catholic Church. You’ve been lied to, my friend.

If thousands claim to be Spirit-led while disagreeing on fundamental issues which one truly speaks for Christ?

Thanks for the prayer! Discernment: To be able to comprehend one would have to be led by the Holy-Spirit, I am sure you would agree with that. For me, consistent Bible study, through prayer developes my dicernment. That is one reason I mentioned ( John 14:26), the Spirit teaches us the things Jesus did and said. We are also sanctified by the word, (John 17:17) Which is the truth. For all intent and purpose sanctified means SET APART, TO MAKE HOLY. We are literally counseled by God through his Holy-Spirit when we study the Bible with prayer. Authority: Always belongs to Jesus, the Bible bears this out. EPHESIANS 5:23, Christ is the HEAD OF THE CHURCH: and he is the saviour of the body. COLOSSIANS 1:18, And He is the HEAD OF THE BODY ,THE CHURCH, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. Jesus chooses those, through his Spirit, who have dicernment, who are sanctified. 2 CORINTHIANS 5:20 Now then we are AMBASSADORS for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. ELDERS AND PASTORS. These leaders guide the church in exercising Christ's authority and shepherding the flock (Acts 20:28; 1 Peter 5:1-2). APOSTLES, NOT JUST ONE The original Apostles were sent out by Jesus to preach and teach, acting as His direct representatives (Matthew 28:18-20). PETER PASSES THE TORCH! 1 PETER 2:5 You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. As far is thousands claiming to have the Spirit, and I belive that is probalbly a loose term. It's most likely alot more than that. YOU WILL KNOW THEM BY THEIR FRUITS. And lets be honest most people do not study their Bible everyday, most people do not pray 30-40 minutes a day. Its a media thing, pulpit, book, movie, documentary. NOW! I will let you know right now I was Catholic for about 18 yrs. I still even have my Catechism. I did not feel comfortable in the Catholic church for some time, so I left. As far as the Evangelical & Pentecost churches, I felt the same about those as well. If a church does not have absolute agreement with God's word, I cannot be apart of that church. As far as tradition? It has to be the tradition & customs of Jesus. The Lord has made me proper where I am with him. God bless Brother.

@mac_ed43566 @BillArnoldTeach Acts 20:28 refers to overseers within the apostolic Church, appointed in continuity with the apostles. It does not prove self-appointed modern pastors outside apostolic succession. Who ordained and commissioned yours in that same lineage?
