Covering #StarfleetAcademy for @TheTrekCentral has shown us a massive display of vitriol / hated / homophobia, that it’s extremely hard to read replies to things now and actually engage with the audience. Sure, criticism is good… but this isn’t good. Not very #StarTrek

@browser_things @apm0788 Prodigy, Lower Decks and Acadeny were all set after Votager with a new ship, crew etc. Arguably PRO & LD leaned more to nostalgia but academy was exactly what you outlined.

@apm0788 Stop doing prequels where story is constrained.. stop doing limtied nostalgia series..Do a main Star Trek Enterprise series set post voyager.. Then you can have eg Academy or Lower Decks or Prodigy around the main thing.. The thing thats missing is the centre

With Starfleet Academy ending after its upcoming second season, we’re about to enter the first stretch in a decade with no new Star Trek in active production. Nothing is more dangerous to fandom than fandom itself. BUT if it didn’t get the numbers, we have to accept that.
