@WayneFromNaz @theoloGUI Whatever. I would still like to hear a response to the claim as it relates to persons.

Not seeing (or reading) that at all. 2nd paragraph plainly states that "people can only be said to be distinct from God" because "people possess some degree of autonomous say-so over and against God". Now we can disagree over this supposed autonomy of man but I can't imagine imputing such a thing to a couch.
Couch ≠ Man therefore Couch has no distinctness from God
The OP is only applying the rules laid out by Boyd. Since the couch does not exhibit the distinctness of autonomy it is indistinct from God.

@spikedonline Constant hiding behind euphemisms - it's not a decision about a pregnancy - it's a decision about killing a baby.
280000 offspring killed in a year doesn't lend much support to the claim of morality and rational thought.

England’s abortion laws are in desperate need of modernising. The current rules are a mess. Those focussing on late-term abortions are missing the point, says Ann Furedi

@Sargon_of_Akkad Me too. But at the same time, I don't understand your optimism...

Another example, from Hollywood history: The actor Steve McQueen narrowly escaped the Manson murder spree because he was sleeping with a woman at her place. At the end of his life he became a Christian. Clearly, God didn't will the sexual sin that saved McQueen's life, but He foresaw McQueen's eventual repentance and conversion.

Stories like this bring home to me the complexity of saying God wills people or their actions into existence. Clearly, God did not will the evil act of murder that Maya's parents undertook before conceiving her. Yet it's meaningful to speak of God's having a plan for her life.

Stranger Things star Maya Hawke says she wouldn’t exist if her parents hadn’t aborted her sibling. Horrific. Women don’t need to end their babies’ lives in order to pursue their dreams.

@RandalRauser Silly ad hom and blind appeal to authority. Birds evolving from dinosaurs via neo darwinian mechanisms is a fairytale.

Are you going to believe the world's leading scientists, scientific bodies, and natural history museums ... or a roadside attraction just off the interstate in Kentucky?
Your choice.

There is no evidence that birds evolved from dinosaurs.

@Ibrahim_S_Amin @jihadwatchRS How is he depicted as a rapist? Do you mean because he had sex with a 9yo?
English

@jihadwatchRS "Majority of Islamic scholars" -- because of course we should put great weight on the analytical abilities of people who believe the Quran's of extraterrestrial origin and Mohammed was the perfect man despite Islam's own core texts depicting him as a rapist and paedophile.

The WTC bullshit is probably the dumbest conspiracy theory, because every structural engineer knows exactly how it happened—and the information is so widely available. But the people who want desperately to believe they’re heroically pulling back the curtain aren’t interested in knowing.
