I've met a lot of sociopaths in my life. I think it's because cutting edge technology and content attracts those types of personalities. But now that I'm older I know how to guard against them. Look out for explanations that include a ton of low probability situations. Look out for victim mentality and paranoia. That a bunch of people are out to get them in some big conspiracy. Look out for situations where the person has to write pages and pages of explanation. It's human to give benefit of the doubt, but be skeptical if over and over it requires benefit of the doubt to explain someone's situation or actions. Most often than not it means they're lying and you should cut them off.
