Been trying out @cursor_ai tonight and it’s amazing. Takes a bit of getting used to but it’s pretty familiar being based on VSCode and the AI assistance is incredibly intuitive. It just knows what I want to do! 🤯

One thing that amazes me about the progress in AI tools is not just the capability of the models now, but also the way the interfacing with the models has become so simple and accessible. Platforms like OpenAI, Claude, Replicate etc have made it so fun and simple to work with.

@dhh Interesting take. What about the overhead of setup and maintenance of a single server vs off-the-shelf services? The dev experience of modern platforms is so good these days. There's an undoubtable cost markup, but on the other hand there's huge time and headache savings too.

If you're not doing over a million dollars in ARR for your SaaS app, you almost certainly don't need more than a single server. Chasing a 99.99% uptime in those early days by prematurely optimizing your resilience is a vast of effort that could have fueled features and bug fixes.

This is so true.
Since having a child it’s made me realise just how much free time I had previously. That said, if I’m feeling motivated, I still find that I do have some time for being productive on projects outside of work.
