I’m still in awe of the fact that I didn’t have to get my vacation approved. I just notified folks the days I was going to be out of town and they were like “have fun!” I’ve been in tech full time for THREE YEARS now, and this job is the first time this has EVER happened to me.

Anyone else feel like last year was very carefully thought out and planned after the surge in spring 2020, and this year, nobody seems to have had any forethought as to what to do now that we find ourselves back in a surge.

My district’s solution to an “unprecedentedly” high number of staff and student absences due to positive COVID tests is to put multiple classes of students together in a large room to work on online assignments independently. 💀 I cannot make this stuff up.
