After giving up 10 earned runs in 8 innings over the past two starts, Baltimore Orioles' starting pitcher Kyle Bradish threw a quality start (7.2 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, and 12 SO) against the Mariners on Wednesday. Bradish had an 18% swinging-strike rate with a 35% ball rate on Wednesday. 🪝Bradish's breaking pitches were cooking, with a 27.6% swinging-strike rate via the curveball and the slider eliciting a 36.8% swinging-strike rate on Wednesday. That's been significantly better than Bradish's swinging-strike rate via the curveball (18.4%) and slider (15%) in 2026 before Wednesday. 🆙He threw his curveball 1.5 mph harder, with the slider being thrown nearly 2 mph harder (1.9 mph). Bradish's slider lost 3 inches of drop and lost 2 inches of glove-side sweep. The Mariners were chasing the curveball 46% of the time, though it was often used for called strikes (38%) and first-pitch strikes (55%). Control has been an issue for Bradish, with a 39.2% ball rate. That impacts his 10.5% K-BB% after being above 23% over the two seasons.
