mmm custom subscriptions in @AWSAmplify enabled by custom key directives is next-level DX for AppSync...

I'm so impressed with @AWSAmplify and AWS AppSync! It's been awesome learning some frontend and @opengql ! Also adding auth with Cognito is simple and amazing! Some app ideas I thought I'd never have the time for are possible with these services. #aws

@beyondsoftware2 Curious how you would like to see the VTL issue addressed? Are better docs/videos/samples enough? Would a better templating language help? E.G. if VTL were replaced with a small lang that looked/felt like JS but without full node. Would you rather write lambda funcs? Other? Lmk

I try my best to avoid VTL for non-codegen resolvers until I have to. Fortunately, I don't switch to @Firebase because I have a worse experience with that :( VTL is terrible until I spend time reading and understanding the examples (they are nice).

@MMatthcw If you take a shot at it let me know. I'll try to take a look as soon as I can. I think a little bit of work could go a long way to help solve this use case.

@MMatthcw The best way to do it currently would be to script it. You can use the list-resolvers and get-schema-introspection APIs (or an introspection query against your API) in the AppSync section of the AWS SDKs to pull down the resources. Its on the backlog to build an easy to use tool.

Between @gatsbyjs and @awsformobile AppSync/Amplify, I'm playing around with side projects more than ever before, rapidly developing prototypes, and most importantly....HAVING A BLAST! Super grateful to so many for all of their hard work on these projects!

@tombray talking about #GraphQL @Ticketmaster. Really interesting talk not only about the tech but about the business of GraphQL. Every minute a developer spends trying to learn opaque APIs is a minute not spent on creating value for customers. Great stuff! 👌🎉

@ben11kehoe @mikeparisstuff I've been loving amplify, especially the client codegen! Building two products with it and it's the best graphql experience I've had. Rolled my own graphql express service before, was great compared to rest but amplify approach is far better than rolling your own.

I have recommended Firebase over AWS in the past for people desiring all-inclusive experience, but I have been hearing this sentiment about Amplify/AppSync a lot lately

Testing the integration of Amplify and AppSync both from @awscloud. Looks like a really powerful combination.
