@lybriansan Unironically through reading multiple of her novels I thought to myself this is like peak denpa/adjacent genre writing and there's a type of otaku who will never get to experience it bc they don't branch out to novels...
English

@mireiEATS Murata Sayaka is basically an eroge writer.
Filipino

i keep reading akutagawa winners and hating them please send help. murata sayaka rules though
LOVE & JUSTICE@shigatsuyouka
The evergrowing contingent of extremely well read plurilingual westeners that whole heartedly believe the litterary nexus of Japan is contained within the medium of eroge while simultaneously being unable to name a single 芥川龍之介賞/直木三十五賞 winner never fails to amuse me
English

@juliusqueezer I have a lot of time for boring pretentious litfic and I still can't with a lot of it. Unfortunately living up to the post
English

@mireiEATS x.com/shigatsuyouka/…
the follow up gives me a giggle.
LOVE & JUSTICE@shigatsuyouka
All that shit is boring i dont even blame them for not caring about it lmfao
English

@mireiEATS There's nothing for it, you'll just have to read Top Japanese Author Kazuo Ishiguro in the original...
English

@sakanakiba no matter what you post if it gets big enough it's just a numbers game that people with strange reactions will come out of the woodworks, but the japanese language learning community and particularly people who care a lot about the jlpt are so strange. lol
deleting was smart
English

@mireiEATS i just looked at the interactions on that post for the first time after seeing it when you posted it, wow lol
i posted some thoughts on the new jlpt requirments for visas earlier today, and deleted the post as soon as it started going viral for some reason
English

@aelibunn if u want a real response, N1 is meant to test broad comprehension so i'm pretty sure this is in there in the sense of a specific slang application of ニュー to mean a new purchase, bc N1 usually does have 1-2 Qs testing your knowledge of loanword applications/slang to an extent
English

@oradio11 I think the majority of japanese learners will be exposed to the english word new far before they reach n1 level
I actually think this is included in n1 study materials in the sense of the mostly dead slang おニュー w/ nuance for a new purchase and the flashcard is poorly written
日本語

@mireiEATS In a sense I'm not surprised. You learn 新 (kanji for new) pretty early on and a lot of Japanese learners don't speak English so they might not know the english word new.
Which means ニュー means nothing to them without the translation.

@katouyuujin0118 N1勉強用のデッキは2000枚以上の単語が入れてるから全部が試験に出るわけないけど
ネタ抜きで多分70年代のスラングのおニューとしての意味で入れされたかなと思う

me as the guy taking the n1 who doesn't know what a loanword is. uh i thought we were learning JAPANESE here??

「CHUD」の意味は「チー牛」です。
「チー牛」と同様に 、「CHUD」は「チーズ牛丼」の略です。
