Three weeks to go in the NHL's regular season, which wraps up Thursday, April 16.
The NHL is still working on next season's schedule but my understanding currently is that the regular season will drop the puck on Sept. 29 and wrap up April 10.
Subject to change, but that's the current plan. And as per new CBA, going to 84 games per team.

@C_R_907 @PierreVLeBrun You are correct in a way. If Italy forces Finland to overtime, it becomes a 2-way tie for 1st and Sweden wins tiebreaker for beating Slovakia, Finland would be 3rd. Sweden coaches assume Finland will win in regulation forcing 3-way tie, hence felt Sweden needed to win by 3.

@PierreVLeBrun I think they were mistaken - they have the same goal differential as Sweden but the table shows Sweden ahead because they have one more goal overall… I guess it was just big because it forces Finland to win by a bunch? Against Italy, which they probably will?

Sweden pulled goalie because they had to win by 3 goals to win Group B. That late Slovakia goal was huge.
Slovakia amazingly wins Group B.
