He was doing his job correctly. He calmly gave basic orders (get back in the car, please step out of the car, etc.) and she was incessantly defiant, rude and argumentative. The common denominator in these situations seems to be that people think that getting pulled over is up for debate. Follow directions and this is over in 2 minutes.

If you think about similar words like 'borough' and 'cough'. They both end in 'gh', but have wildly different sounds.

Man, people are really touchy when it comes to pronunciations. I would like to point out though that almost all modern language evolved through mispronunciations. Example: the word "through" wasn't originally 'throo', the 'gh' at the end involved a guttural hawking sound, I *think*, but I might be wrong, because of Dutch origin. It's just how languages work.
