@tbonier If you dont know - like Nathaniel apparently doesn't - that you can segregate out high-propensity,low-propensity and new voters and see if Dems are banking votes or shifting votes then yes, he's correct that that information is useless to you. To some people it's useful.

The reality is that good early vote analysis is very difficult and it’s still early. And it won’t definitively predict winners. But if you can see individual turnout data for half of the vote and not learn something, you’re not a very good analyst.

I’m old enough to remember when Nathaniel and his former boss, Nate Silver, dismissed early vote analysis showing Dems over performing in key states in 2022 as “hopium”.
