@alongubkin Do you see a requirement for strict air-gapped deployments come up often?

Yes, it's possible to drop an entire SaaS into a customer's environment (and it's often required for airgapped customers) however it's important to remember that a customer's environment is an alien environment you don't control. therefore every piece of infra you deploy there can add SIGNIFICANT operational complexity later on especially as you grow to more and more BYOC customers you want to keep whatever u run in the customer's cloud as SMALL as possible. keep as much code and state as possible in your control plane. your data plane should be as dumb as possible. use managed / serverless services as much as possible in the customer's cloud examples: * lambda > ecs > k8s * s3 > postgres etc

@alongubkin I've seen a handful of people miss that memo, and do, in fact, drop the entire SaaS into a customer's environment. ;)

@nickmonad I'm working on this problem! Ideally btw you don't drop an entire SaaS into your customer's environment, only the small part that needs access to sensitive data

YO Does your company/product have a BYOC ("bring your own cloud") offering? You know, where you do the crazy thing of dropping a SaaS into a customer's on-prem/cloud environment? I'd love to chat about what you're doing for monitoring and observability. DMs open!

@albert_ @ryvnai Have you run into situations where an air gap is required for regulatory compliance? What if no connection can be maintained back to a provider's control plane? Is that a strict requirement for something to be considered "BYOC"?

@GHPsauce @shalt_not_kill I don't need knowledge of advanced mathematics to survive, but I understand why one would desire to pursue it.

Patriarch Kirill of Moscow uttered a heresy condemned by the Ecumenical Council In his sermon on May 21, Patriarch Kirill (Gundyaev) of Moscow declared that at the Second Coming, Jesus Christ will appear "outside of all flesh." "The Church of God is that through which the Lord is present in people's lives from the very times when He came in the flesh to minister to the salvation of the human race, until the time when He will appear outside of all flesh, in glory," the Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church said. Deacon Andrei Kuraev drew attention to this, recalling that the Council of Chalcedon of 451 decreed that the union of the Divine and human natures in Christ is "inseparable." Thus, he emphasized, the head of the Russian Orthodox Church "uttered a heresy condemned by the Ecumenical Council."

@shalt_not_kill Honestly it’s a very bizarre idea that the true understanding of Christ’s nature was unveiled 300 years after his death. There’s no way that St Paul knew what “homoousios” meant.

As evidenced by the unbridled promotion and implementation of technology at the expense of human dignity, we are truly experiencing an eclipse of the sense of what it means to be human. It is imperative to recover an understanding of the true meaning and grandeur of humanity as intended by God. It is in this sense that the challenge we currently face is not technological, but anthropological, and it is my hope that the Encyclical Letter to be published within a few days will contribute to answering this challenge.
