Nigeria Has Never Experienced the Advancements We Are Seeing Under President Tinubu — Ooni of Ife  The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has hailed President Bola Tinubu’s administration, saying Nigeria is witnessing unprecedented progress under his leadership. Speaking at the inauguration of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement in Abuja on Thursday, the monarch commended Tinubu’s economic and governance reforms, describing them as historic. “President Bola Ahmed came very prepared, and the result is obvious. From the public governance and the private sector, what’s happening in this country has never been experienced before. If you go to capital market of Nigeria today, we are getting to a market capitalisation of over N140 trillion. Never in the history of Nigeria,” he said. The Ooni also argued that the administration’s reforms had strengthened Nigeria’s position globally. He added, “Never in the history of our country that Nigeria will play a strategic role in the European economy.” Highlighting improvements in the country’s external reserves, the monarch said Tinubu’s policies were laying the foundation for sustainable economic growth. “Also, the foreign reserve of this country is now getting to $52 billion. This can finance importation in the next three years conveniently. The projection is there, and clearly the dollar is going to be stabilised, and there won’t be anything to shake our foreign exchange. The disparity is so close. “No more arbitrage. No more rent-seeking. We are now ready for real production in our country. Look at what he has done to Ajaokuta Steel and the NNPC,” the traditional ruler said. Top Boy Star Micheal Ward Breaks Down in Tears After Jury Clears Him of R+pe, s+xual a§§ault Charges Top Boy actor Micheal Ward broke down in tears in court on Friday after a jury found him not guilty of all r+pe and s+xual a§§ault charges brought against him. The 28-year-old actor had been accused of raping and s+xually a§§aulting a woman in the back of a Mercedes after they met outside a New Year’s party in east London in January 2023. Ward denied the allegations, insisting throughout the trial that the encounter was consensual. After a two-week trial at Snaresbrook Crown Court, jurors unanimously cleared Ward of two counts of r+pe, two counts of a§§ault by penetration, and one count of s+xual a§§ault following more than five hours of deliberations. As the verdicts were read, Ward became emotional and burst into tears, while his family and friends in the public gallery shouted in relief. He was later assisted out of the courtroom by his defence lawyer. During the trial, Ward told the court, “Everything we did was wholly consensual.” He added, “We engaged in consensual s+x, had a great time and she was actively participating in what we were doing all the time.” Following the verdict, his solicitor, Humzah Ilyas, said the case had a “profound impact” on the actor’s life and career. “As he maintained throughout this case, this was a consensual s+xual encounter. The jury agreed and cleared him of all wrongdoing,” Ilyas said, adding that Ward was grateful to the jury, his family and God. He also noted that the actor wanted to acknowledge survivors of s+xual v+olence, saying they “deserve to be heard, treated with compassion, and have their allegations taken seriously.”
