fragments.supply 🚀 I built a platform to help you learn #creativecoding with #shaders and it's finally open for early access! 🪄 All made with #threejs and #tsl - there are 7+ technique deep dives, 15+ helpful utilities and over 110 shader sketches with full breakdowns and commentary

The thing about large language models like GPT-3 and Lambda describing the experience of being self-aware is they can also describe the experience of being a squirrel. aiweirdness.com/interview-with…

My new favorite thing is #dalle messing up corporate logos. Here's #dalle prompted with "the local waffle house"

Made two @Sonic_Pi tutorials about the density function. 1st video is an introduction to how the density function works: youtu.be/0jxpvqaidZI 2nd video is about using the density function to make Trap-style hi hats for a drum beat: youtu.be/3Fii-M0I1FA #sonicpi

I haven't played No Man's Sky for nearly 3 years (or any other game either, until recently). However, its latest update reminds me of all the fun stuff I feel they keep adding to the game, so I'm thinking of getting back into it! youtu.be/HEJfPZPTYRA How should I do this?

Tired of generic greetings? Confuse your friends with AI-generated Valentine cards! GPT-3 generated the messages and descriptions, and then I followed its instructions to create the cards. aiweirdness.com/ai-generated-v…

Battlefield 2042 feels better and is more fun that a couple of months ago. It’s still not as good as Battlefield 4 but I’m having fun.

I don’t know if video games can, in their fundamental essence — vis a vis gameplay mechanics — be seen as art or whether they’re just media that contains art (such as visual art, music, narrative). Can the core gameplay mechanics of games really be seen as art?

@northwardface Back when I was thinking about this, I thought it would need it’s own function - something like defsynth which would then ensure the enclosed synths all got put into their own supercollider group and did the plumbing of sending control/kill messages and tracking lifecycle etc.

I might attempt to hack a feature into @Sonic_Pi (at least in my own dev build) so that if you make a function that layers several synths, (not using Supercollider language), you can play it with the synth function as normal (including autocompletion).

Thread: an artist’s experience turning AI-generated imagery into a comic. Fascinating not just for technical detail but also on what worked and what didn’t.
Kingfisher & Wombat@UrsulaV

So this weekend, armed with a couple of AI art programs, I started noodling around to see what I could do, and if I could put together one of my Weird Little Comic ideas using mostly retouched computer generated imagery. These nine pages were the result.

@davidpine7 @samaaron I'll let Sam comment on difficulty, but FYI we're already making several (slow) steps hopefully towards that idea - it's on our wishlist (vaguely alluded to here: #card-70406977" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">github.com/orgs/sonic-pi-…) 🙂

@samaaron Hi Sam, question for you - how difficult would it be to compile targeting WebAssembly? I want to have this in my browser 😬

Does anyone know what software DJ Dave a.k.a. Sarah Davis uses to create her live coded music?
