While Russia is helping Iran attack U.S. bases in the Middle East, a delegation of State Duma lawmakers invited by Republican Congressman Anna Paulina Luna is in Congress meeting with members and Trump administration officials. It’s the first visit by Russian lawmakers since Russia invaded Ukraine, some of whom are under sanctions. The trip is meant to “resume the communication, with no specific agenda,” said Leonid Slutsky, chairman of the State Duma’s Foreign Affairs Committee, who called it a “test meeting” to “see each other, hear and feel each other.”
