The irony is extraordinary.
Vijay himself has not uttered a single word against either the Governor or the Union Government over the refusal to invite TVK to form the government. Yet his ecosystem now expects DMK to lead the democratic resistance on his behalf.
If Vijay cannot even politically assert his own mandate, question constitutional overreach, or directly confront the Governor’s conduct, why should other parties perform that responsibility for him?
Since its inception, TVK carefully avoided taking clear positions against the BJP Union Government. Even now, when a direct constitutional issue has emerged, the silence continues. But the same ecosystem demands that VCK, CPI, and CPM should mobilize politically so that Vijay can seamlessly walk into Fort St. George as Chief Minister.
Politics does not work like celebrity entitlement.
Support from ideological parties is not inherited through popularity or fan culture. It is to be earned through political credibility, ideological consistency and the courage to take difficult positions.
If Vijay expected secular and anti-BJP political forces to trust him, the minimum expectation was that he would publicly stand against gubernatorial overreach and defend democratic norms himself.

@Ahmedshabbir20 now the interesting question is what will the @arivalayam respond to this situation? 1. will it question the Governor & insist on calling TVK to form the Govt? or 2. will it keep quiet? If 1 happens, its good for TN & will be seen as anti-BJP If 2, then its #DMKxBJP for 2029

Vijay missed an opportunity to thank the voters. More importantly, he missed the chance to deliver a gracious victory speech. It has been three days since the counting, and we now have a situation where the potential Chief Minister has pressed the mute button.
Even one appeal to the public to support good governance would have put pressure on parties to make way for TVK. A conciliatory signal to the Centre and warm wishes to the other parties could have cleared the path for his ascendance.
Contrast this with M. K. Stalin. He put out a well-drafted tweet and went around thanking voters in a seat he lost. Through small gestures, he regained some lost goodwill.
Vijay has been blessed with a great deal of good fortune and many golden opportunities. He must make use of them without appearing entitled.
