Today, a California law firm secured a $33M arbitration award against T-Mobile over a SIM swap attack that led to a $46M crypto theft.
In 2020, T-Mobile’s "security failures" allowed Graham Ivan Clark, aka “Kirk,” to hijack Joseph “Josh” Jones’ phone number and drain his crypto accounts.
Clark, a 17-year-old from Canada, was involved in multiple hacking incidents, including SIM-swapping attacks and cryptocurrency thefts.
Clark successfully stole over 1,500 Bitcoin and 60,000 Bitcoin Cash. Now worth an astonishing, $150M.
Clark was later linked to the 2020 Twitter hacks, where he and others hijacked celebrity accounts to run a Bitcoin scam. He was arrested in July of 2020 and later sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to fraud charges.
