@davepl1968 @SpencerFernando I can think of a thing or two that would qualify for "laughing stock of the western hemisphere" long before that... 🤔

@awstar11 Canadians were pivotal to the original Moon missions. When the Avro Arrow project was abruptly cancelled in 1959, NASA swooped in to recruit about 32 engineers from the program. These individuals didn't just fill roles; they were the architects Apollo's most critical systems.

I’m hearing from sources that Ivan Demidov is very unhappy with his amount of playing time with the Montreal Canadiens. He believes it is the reason he won’t beat Matthew Schaefer for the Calder. Sources say he either wants more minutes or a change in scenery. #GoHabsGo

@davepl1968 @globalnews What language was suppressed? French is unfortunately dying at a rapid pace in Louisiana and New Orleans. Not sure where you get your info...

@globalnews I'm Canadian. And Elon's right for once. Just because you've normalized treating one language and culture as superior for so long doesn't make it right ethically. New Orleans has a vibrant French culture without the government-enforced suppression of other languages.

@AlbertaLeonidas What the fuck do you mean they "do not allow English"? All of these CEOs are fully bilingual, and you can bet your ass of one of their Anglophone employees for killed while on duty, they could and would address a few words to their families in English (even if with an accent).

@DufourGui @HistoryLegends_ @elonmusk ONE of his roles. Here are the four pillars of a CEO’s role: Strategy and Vision Culture and Leadership Stakeholder Management Financial Performance Notice that second one? Failed. Badly.

@HistoryLegends_ @elonmusk More than 600h of French Lessons, and still can’t speak or read. Elon, as an employer, would you keep someone who had 600h to learn a programming language and was still not able to even read it?

Dear @elonmusk, the reality is that Air Canada CEO should have resigned a long time ago 🇨🇦 1) Quebec officials have been complaining him for years for his complete inability to speak French as the CEO of Air Canada, where bilingualism is required, and despite the company being headquartered in Montreal, Quebec. 2) In Quebec, the official language is French. It's the law and the core part of the province's identity. Air Canada CEO Michael Rousseau has lived in Quebec for 20 years, and never made the effort to learn French. This strikes a sensitive nerve for many Quebecers, as it reflects a broader pattern seen among many newcomers in the province who remain unable or unwilling to integrate and speak French. 3) Since his appointment as CEO of Air Canada in 2019, despite "taking lessons", he has not achieved basic proficiency for public statements. Nobody is asking for him to become fluent, but French Canadians are disappointed that he didn't even make the effort to read off a pre-written text in French. 4) One of the two pilots that died, Captain Antoine Forest, is from Quebec, and it's disrespectful to his family that the condolences message was only said in English. 5) Another factor that triggered French Canadians is that ironically, his last name Rousseau is of French heritage. This touched on a profound and longstanding fear: the gradual erosion and disappearance of their language and culture in their own homeland.

@902Dv8 @HistoryLegends_ @elonmusk By law, certainly not. But by common sense, basic decency, and even for purely business reasons, he has to. That's why he has to resign in the end. Moron. (not sure why we have to add this epithet, but seems like that's how you are addressing people so...)
