130 schools said no.
He led the losingest program in college football history to a national championship anyway.
Fernando Mendoza was a 2-star recruit from Miami.
He tried to walk on at his hometown school. They passed.
So did FIU.
So did FAU.
So did everyone else.
At 17, he was sitting in his bedroom, crying over a silent recruiting inbox—after driving to 18 camps with his dad and sending highlights to more than 100 programs.
Not one FBS offer.
His only option? Yale. No scholarship. No NFL path.
Everyone told him to be “realistic.”
“Know your place.”
“Be grateful.”
He didn’t listen.
Because Mendoza understood something most people miss:
The worst outcome isn’t failing.
It’s never getting the chance to try.
Two weeks before signing day in 2022, his phone rang.
Cal needed a body. One offer. Out of 134 schools.
He took it.
He arrived as the third-string quarterback.
Spent a year on the scout team.
Lost his first four starts.
Got sacked 41 times behind a broken offensive line.
Still got up. Every time.
Then Cal brought in a transfer instead of building around him.
So Mendoza left the only school that had ever said yes.
He transferred to Indiana—the losingest program in college football history.
People laughed.
“Career suicide.”
“Graveyard program.”
“Nobody wins there.”
One coach told him something different:
“I’m going to make you the best Fernando Mendoza possible.”
That was enough.
Mendoza wasn’t just playing for football.
His mother has battled multiple sclerosis for 18 years.
Before every snap, he thought of her.
“My mother is my why.”
Indiana went 16–0.
Beat six Top-10 teams.
Won their first Big Ten title since 1945.
Mendoza threw 41 touchdowns.
Won the Heisman—first in school history.
First Cuban-American to ever do it.
Then came the title game.
Miami. Near his hometown.
Fourth-and-4. Season on the line.
Quarterback draw.
The kid 134 schools rejected spun through defenders and dove into the end zone.
Game over.
Indiana—national champions.
The losingest program became the best team in America.
All because a 17-year-old refused to believe “no” was the end.
Rankings don’t decide your ceiling.
Gatekeepers don’t write your ending.
Being overlooked isn’t a verdict—it’s a starting point.
Sometimes all you need is one shot…
and the courage to bet on yourself when nobody else will.
Don’t quit.

@0biemac@keating_peter@CelticAshes Obie, the first giveaway is that you are not allowed to film in the Customs processing area. Even if it was real, it is not wise to treat people in authority like this guy did.
@keating_peter@CelticAshes I agree, this seems like a staged skit to stir people up. I travel through customs in a respectful manner and I have never been hassled.
@CelticAshes Nice skit! First of all you would never be allowed to record going through customs. Also where are the cameras for the facility that would be that room, I would guess about 6 to 8 at least.
@WeAreCanProud In Western Canada, I’m gonna guess that it’s gotta be over 90% want to get rid of the liberals I honestly think whoever jumped up these numbers just simply trying to divide another way called ageism.
Hi.
I’m a Liberal.
And I hate Canada.
I believe Canada should be sending endless amounts of Canadian tax payer money overseas while veterans live on the street.
Because, I mean, like, let’s be honest, veterans are asking for too much.
And don’t even get me started on women.
But since I brought it up - women need to learn their place, they need to learn where they belong, and they need to understand that
men 👏 make 👏 the 👏 decisions 👏.
Men should be allowed to invade women’s spaces.
Men should be allowed to insert themselves wherever they want.
And that includes sports, change rooms, locker rooms, jails, bathrooms - LITERALLY ANYWHERE. Because they’re men. And because only men can define what a woman is…even if they can’t. I mean, it’s 2025 - almost 2026 - and sex based rights just don’t matter anymore.
You just have to say “I’m a woman” in order to be a woman.
Duh.
And if you disagree that just means you’re a bigot. And if you’re a bigot, you’re likely a raging fascist.
And no, I don’t know what fascist means. And you know what else - I don’t care. I don’t care what it means. I use words that I don’t understand as weapons all the time and it’s totally fine.
I also believe food banks are overwhelmed because they’re not trying hard enough. Just like the people in line. If you’re being taxed into a state of poverty - get another job, skip a meal, send your kids to bed hungry. Like, just stop. Stop complaining. Stop overwhelming the food banks. Don’t be so selfish.
And if you’re white - you shouldn’t even be in line because you’ve had everything given to you. You haven’t had to work for anything. And that’s crazy to me because, like, white privilege is just so bad right now it’s just so bad it’s just like LITERALLY EVERYWHERE.
And I know it might sound crazy for me to say that - because I’m white, but sometimes, like, i just feel so bad about being white that I film myself crying and then I post it to social media.
Sometimes I’ll cry at home, but usually I cry during the day (because I want people to know that I don’t have a job) - and I do it in my car. And I’ll do it parked outside a Walmart because Walmart is, like, super triggering to me because it’s an American company and I keep telling people that I’m boycotting anything and everything American (like I cancelled 16 trips to the US this past year because I’m not a fascist), but since I don’t have as much money as I used to I’m still shopping there and lying about it.
So I pretend I’m crying about something else because, like, obviously I don’t want my friends who I regularly protest things I don’t understand with to know that I’m this giant hypocrite, so I just make stuff up and start crying.
And it seems to be working.
FREE PALESTINE!
And I know some of you got upset when I said “send your kids to bed hungry,” but if they didn’t want to go to bed hungry they would have said no, but like, they didn’t.
And that is consent.
So yeah, like obviously kids can consent to being put on puberty blockers, being sterilized, having their innocent bodies mutilated, and then being sentenced to life long medicalization.
IF THEY DIDN’T WANT THAT THEY’D SAY SO.
Kids can consent to anything.
Anyways, I’ve had like 4 abortions this year (even though I don’t have a uterus), and I’m super exhausted.
And fuck Trump.

How did I do?
Today, I reached my goal of 30 days without a single drink.
Thank you to everyone who sent supportive comments about it.
Better sleep & thinking about it less & less each week. Relaxing w/ prayer instead of w/ a glass.
A really good feeling. ☑️
10/10 recommend.
I manage my own account, which is why I get pissed off from time to time. I have broad shoulders, but the constant trolling does get to me.
I'd appreciate a high five.
Grok, is this story for real? L.A. DECLARES STATE OF EMERGENCY AFTER TRUMP’S ICE RAIDS EXPOSE TUNNELS, SAFEHOUSES, AND FOREIGN-BACKED TRAFFICKING HUBS HIDDEN INSIDE SANCTUARY PROGRAMS
Los Angeles is collapsing under the weight of what Trump’s forces just uncovered — a sanctuary system masking global trafficking and financial laundering operations buried beneath “immigration aid.” On October 14, 2025, county supervisors voted 4-1 to activate emergency powers. The pretext: protecting immigrants. The truth: shielding an international criminal network now being dismantled by Trump’s federal task force. These aren’t routine raids. They’re seizures. Hard drives. Offshore account lists. Tunnel maps. ICE operations are synchronized with military-grade intelligence units under Trump’s directive. What’s being exposed is an infrastructure of crime that used undocumented populations as cover for funding pipelines, trafficking rings, and foreign intelligence infiltration. Over 113 arrests so far — all linked to NGOs, fake charities, and “tenant aid” groups funded by EU and WEF-aligned donors. Many of those arrested aren’t migrants. They’re handlers. Some have aliases going back 15 years. Behind them: a system built to engineer chaos and control votes while laundering billions through fake relief funds.
When ICE moved in, the network struck back. Protests were triggered — not organic. They were activated. Molotovs, vandalism, looting — all mapped to the same zones ICE had raided days earlier. A controlled response. The city called for curfews. Newsom sued Trump to stop the National Guard deployment. But behind the lawsuits lies fear: exposure of an underground grid wired for global operations. Shelters labeled “humanitarian” had biometric scanners, encrypted servers, and tunnels leading to freight depots. Many were built with COVID funds. Federal investigators say these sites were used for organ trafficking, data collection, and child transport linked to cartels. Supervisor Kathryn Barger opposed the emergency order. She’s now under threat. Three break-ins since the vote. Landlords are furious as another moratorium crushes them — this time to hide the exodus of operatives fleeing before they testify.
Trump’s ICE isn’t alone. Cyber and financial warfare units from the Pentagon are tracing crypto flows tied to these NGOs. It’s not about deportations anymore — it’s system takedown. Every seized drive, every encrypted file leads upward: city hall, Hollywood, Silicon Valley. Los Angeles declared an “emergency” not to save people — but to barricade the truth. The global machine is being unplugged. And Trump’s storm has only just begun.

Dear Karly,
Your story perfectly captures why public trust in medical professionals has cratered, but maybe not for the reasons you think.
When someone responds to your medical expertise with "I bet you have pronouns too," they're not being anti-science - they're expressing justified skepticism about a profession that has systematically destroyed its own credibility. After watching "trust the science" become a political cudgel during COVID, can you really blame people for questioning medical authority?
Let's review the scorecard: Anthony Fauci told us masks don't work, then masks are essential, then double-mask, then cloth masks are useless. "Experts" assured us the vaccine would stop transmission - oops, never mind. They claimed natural immunity was inferior to vaccine immunity - wrong again. They suppressed lab leak discussions as "conspiracy theories" until it became politically acceptable to discuss.
Then there's the broader medical establishment's embrace of ideological activism. When medical professionals start claiming men can be women, that biological sex is a "social construct," and that questioning gender ideology makes you a bigot, people notice. When the same profession that demands we trust them on ivermectin also insists that healthy teenagers need puberty blockers, credibility suffers.
Even more damaging: doctors are now convincing parents to pursue radical sex reassignment treatments for children, despite knowing the adolescent brain isn't fully developed until age 25. They're denying underlying psychological issues exist, withholding necessary psychoanalysis and therapy that could actually help these kids. Most devastating of all, they're ignoring their own research showing that suicide rates INCREASE after 10 years post-transition, not decrease - because the real psychological care these children needed was systematically ignored in favor of irreversible medical interventions.
Andrew Wakefield destroyed trust with fraudulent autism studies. But at least he was just one dishonest doctor. Now we have entire medical institutions captured by political ideology, where saying "only women can get pregnant" can end careers faster than medical malpractice.
Your degrees in cellular physiology and public health are impressive, but when people see medical professionals prioritizing pronouns over pathology, they start wondering if your expertise comes with ideological strings attached. When medical schools teach "anti-racism" alongside anatomy, when medical journals publish papers on "decolonizing medicine," when physician organizations issue statements about systemic racism instead of, you know, medicine - people question whether they're getting science or sermon.
The ivermectin person wasn't rejecting your expertise because they hate science. They were rejecting what they perceive as another woke activist hiding behind credentials. Fair or not, that's the reality medical professionals created for themselves.
When the medical establishment spent years telling people that COVID lab leak theories were dangerous misinformation, then quietly admitted they might be true, trust evaporated. When they claimed protests were super-spreader events unless they were BLM protests, credibility died.
So yes, people are skeptical when medical experts speak. That's not anti-intellectualism - that's pattern recognition. After watching medical professionals become political activists in lab coats, many Americans decided expertise without integrity is worthless.
Maybe instead of lamenting public skepticism, medical professionals should ask why they traded scientific credibility for political relevance.

A. He says the things I think and feel. Truth be told if it’s all bullshit and we end up in the same spot at least on the ride there I will feel like I’m riding in a convertible with the top down as opposed to sitting in the cramped backseat of a shitty yugo, carsick puking my guts out which is what has been going on for the past 10 years.
