Meldon hill, the 5th highest hill in the Pennines. Famous for being unheard of. I'll be paying it a visit on Saturday when it's forecast icy cold with snow showers. It's a nice long walk in with no path once you're off the Pennine way. I'm expecting to be the only one there.

Today marks four years since we lost Thatcher to urinary calculi. There's not a day that goes by where we don't think about him and smile. He is seen in his sister Sally and his personality shines thru his nephew Jasper. We miss him just as much today as we did then. If you're posting PBs at the age of 50, it's because you didn't optimize that particular metric when you were 25. I can't think of any physical quality that can be better at 50 than when you were younger. It's great to be fitter or stronger in old age than you were when you were younger, but you are still systemically older. You're improving within reduced bandwidth.

@GuruAnaerobic Many people don’t start running til their 30s, 40s or beyond. Many people spend their 20s partying. All of which is ok. Posting PBs at any age is great because it shows an increase in fitness which can only ever be beneficial.

@mooramana @cm_bagot My two were never like it either ,and they played outside quietly taught to respect the neighbours. I have to go out a lot if it’s a good summer, can’t sit in my own garden listening to the birds . Dreading it already after the last few days 😥😫

@peakrunner47 @cm_bagot I’d agree. My 18 yo wasn’t like it when younger and nor were her friends. Fortunately they’re not natural outdoors types and soon get bored outside😊 if it’s particularly bad in summer I distract myself by tidying my large garden followed by a bonfire of my garden waste…

The very first egg of spring has arrived. They stopped laying in August!!! There are 5 of them but one is a start🤷🏼‍♀️ Currently sat in the garden in sunshine with a cup of tea would be idyllic if I wasn’t listening to the neighbours kids shouting at each other 🤬

100 Mile Race Complete. Wish I had better news about my performance. Sadly, anything that could have gone wrong did. The temps wiped me out, and I never recovered from it. I found myself unable to pee for about 8 hours and had to walk the last 25 miles. I’ll be out for a while.😮‍💨

@mooramana @cm_bagot Must be a thing with kids these days cos my neighbours are the same . I think the kids learn it from their parents shouting and screaming at each other& loud music all the time , seems it’s the norm to be noisy and chaotic.Completely opposite to how I was brought up

@cm_bagot Yes… the positive is they’re not natural outdoor kids they soon disappear inside. Why do they shout & scream? M & her friends never did

Tomorrow I finally find out if all the training paid off. My goal for this 100-miler is to finish in around 15–17 hours. Thank you all for your support and encouragement during this training block - it really means a lot. I hope to share good news with you all on Saturday. 🤝

@TheBossnME @autisticgardner I can’t abide it . I’ve agreed to cut my neighbours side of my beautiful large hedge to protect the abundance of sparrows that live in it - neighbours wanted to remove it 😕

Anyone else feel immense anger when someone decimates an established tree, hedge, shrub, or similar? 🤔 My neighbour did this yesterday to a Cotoneaster. Established way over 20 years. The pigeons and other birds sat on it and ate the berries. We live among absolute nutters.

We're going to have a contest! A bit of a long one because we can't do anything until mud season ends. We are missing our other half of the yard😱 No, it's simply blocked off because porch construction stopped when bad weather started coming. We need to rent another dumpster, buy a lot of wood to remake a deck of some sort and we have 12 panels of fencing needed to buy that the last person didnt complete🙄 Please help others that need it more, but if you're looking to be in a contest, feel free to throw a little towards our construction🤗 More details to come!

@therealmissjo Going through this with my dad who use to be so active being an outdoor person gardening, farming ,building . I’m his hands now as his mobility has deteriorated to nothing … really hard to watch and deal with

Ageing is horrendous. Don’t tell me otherwise Watching people you love and care for slowly deteriorating, not just physically but mentally, has to be one of the hardest things that humans have to endure.
