@AnthropoceneMe1 It's just soapstone and it's actually very destructible. It wears down with use and actually develops a nice patina. One "benefit" is that when ,not if, it chips, the broken edges self soften and won't be sharp.

Had an argument with our director of research at our plant once. The shift engineer noted the lake temp (it was in the water, btw) on the instrument was 31F. He logged 32F. The director (theoretically a chem Phd) wanted him to log (the obviously incorrect) instrument reading

Back online after internet blackout. I grew up in Connecticut and have truly never seen an ice like this ever. The temperature is 30 degrees but the ice on our trees tops is not melting at all. Never seen anything like this. Anybody else?
