Finland, as part of the European Union, has previously stated that Nicolás Maduro’s government lacks legitimacy. The EU has consistently supported the country’s peaceful, democratic development. All states have a responsibility to respect and act in accordance with international law. This principle is a cornerstone of Finland’s foreign policy.
