Archie Gray is one of the few Tottenham Hotspur players who can hold his head up high at the moment. He’s fighting for the cause. He's fighting against the very real threat of relegation. Others need to follow his example …. #THFC 1/2

This vehicle was parked blocking 2 accessible bays. Driver refused to move and didn’t apologise. This is in a supermarket car park when it was open.

@Se_Railway Thank you. That was my point in commenting was so that procedures are improved. Such situations can be challenging, but there need to be ways to overcome them.

@peteraclarkson I'm glad you made your train and I'm very sorry that you weren't able to use a lift. What I'm going to do is forward your messages onto the station manager at St Pancras, and include our Accessibility & Inclusion manager, so this can be looked into to avoid similar happenings ^DR

@Se_Railway It seems you have no ‘Plan B’ if the single lift at St Pancras is out of action

@Se_Railway Yes I did make my train. The staff didn’t seem to know how to use the goods lift and claimed only one person could assist me. In the end I had to get someone to help me to get my mobility scooter down the escalator.

@peteraclarkson Apologies for the difficulty you had traveling today. Staff are able to use a goods lift to transport passengers who require use of a lift when the main lift from the platform is out of service. Were you able to make your train in the end? ^DR

@Se_Railway Thank you. It wasn’t about 12.25pm today and your staff didn’t seem to know what to do. I was in a mobility scooter and almost missed my connection at Kings Cross which was an advanced fare ticket so on a specific train.

@peteraclarkson Hi Peter. I've just spoken to the team at St Pancras and they have told me the lift is in use. ^DR

Today I was asked by an MDPI journal to review a manuscript written by two members of my own department! I've declined due to "conflict of interest" but also because I refuse to review for predatory publishers such as MDPI.

This is Colonel Nicole Malachowski. A 21-year veteran of the Air Force, she is the first woman to fly with the Thunderbirds and flew 26 missions in Iraq. Trump has removed all mention of her from federal websites. RETWEET if you stand with @RealMalachowski against Trump!

@MathMatize A course on “number theory” is not what you appear to think. The topic has many important applications including cryptography. Whenever you use a credit card, number theory is part of the technology to ensure data is transferred securely.

A math department at a major university in the US is now offering a semester long course on “number theory.” Yes, you read that right. Number. Like 1,2,3,4….The things kids learn about in primary school. The dumbing down of America continues…

Joe Root ran 8.3 kms (9086 yards) for his and his partners’ runs in Multan. He ran 234 singles, 61 doubles and 19 threes during his stay on the crease. For his personal runs, he didn’t rely much on boundaries as he scored 194 runs by running between the wickets, the third highest in England’s Test history after 213 by Andy Sandham in Jamaica in 1930 and 224 by Len Hutton at The Oval in 1938.

@rachelburden My experience in Australia is that in several places you have the choice of a midi (1/3 pint), schooner or pint. Another option is a jug to share. Very sensible

Our #InMyOpinion tomorrow - schooners (2/3 pint) are better than pints! 🍻 They encourage less drinking and the beer doesn’t go warm. Would you go for a smaller glass?

So she was first author on his key paper - in fact she's on most of his key papers, yet she didn't get the Nobel Prize, in spite of the fact they could have given 3 awards, not just 2. Explain to me how STEM is not institutionally sexist.

Congratulations to our 2024 medicine laureate Victor Ambros ✨ This morning he celebrated the news of his prize with his colleague and wife Rosalind Lee, who was also the first author on the 1993 'Cell' paper cited by the Nobel Committee. #NobelPrize

Videos of my lectures on "asymptotics and perturbation methods" are freely available. These are ingenious mathematical methods for analyzing difficult problems by exploiting the presence of a small parameter in them. Widely used in physics, math, CS,... youtube.com/playlist?list=… via @YouTube
