First it was Black Mirror, now it’s just Monday in Atlanta. A company called Undaunted raised nearly $1M this February to flood Atlanta with these "pack" patrols. They are called private security "packs" and now patrol ATL streets. These autonomous dogs are controlled by remote pilots, equipped with thermal vision, and carry sirens loud enough to stop you in your tracks. The policy shift happened quietly: property managers are replacing human guards with these AI-synced bots at half the cost. In one DeKalb complex, they’ve already cleared out crime and doubled occupancy. Safety or Scifi Nightmare?

This is 40. Little kid me would’ve laughed if you said 2025 was real… or that I’d actually get here. I used to try picturing 40-year-old Frankie...what I’d look like, what I’d be doing...and it felt like science fiction. If you’d told 13-year-old me on the Malcolm set that I’d walk away from Hollywood, race trucks full-time in NASCAR, own a freaking olive oil store, become a husband, a dad, and somehow still get recognized as “that kid from the show” two decades later… I would’ve called you crazy. Most days I’m still waiting for someone to tell me this is all a prank. But here’s the thing: the wild childhood is in the rear-view, the chaotic twenties are a blur, my thirties were where I finally figured out who I am when the cameras aren’t rolling… and now 40? 40 feels like the starting grid. I’ve got the best little family, the fastest chapter of my racing career ahead, and a hunger I haven’t felt since I was that kid begging for one more take. This isn’t the finish line. This is engines on, green flag dropping. Let’s go. Thank you all for being part of this absolutely unbelievable ride.

It’s now 27 years since I was made redundant and given a few grand. I decided that if I was careful, I could live off the money for 6 months trying to become a comedian before I had to get another job. I was 37. Worth a punt.

“It's a programme that needs to be decided at the ballot box, not in the company boardroom.” The government’s digital ID programme lacks a "clear public mandate" and Palantir “will not be participating,” says the company's UK head @LouisMosley.

Christmas tip - if you’re feeling fucking miserable, stick Nativity! on, (with Martin Freeman, Marc Wootton & Ashley Jensen from that magical time when it was all about British comedy). It works and you have a nice cry and it cheers you right up good and proper.

BT made £1,300,000,000 in profit last year and gave its millionaire CEO a 32% pay rise. But it then offered workers a real-terms pay cut, even as they're forced to open workplace foodbanks. Today I was proud to join a CWU picket in Coventry, as the workers fight for fair pay ✊🏽

In Feb, I came back to @BBCCiN to work on the DCMS grants round, and on Monday I'll be moving into the Marketing team. I'm so thankful to have been able to work with such a truly outstanding group of people. Grateful for all I've learned and looking forward for what's to come.

Good luck to @WarringtonYZ who opened their doors today. We recently had a @BBCCiN project visit and were so impressed. Kitchens, gyms, arts & music rooms, even a football pitch on the roof. Accessible toilets too. 👏 I grew up here in #Warrington and would have loved this place.

So last night I finally saw one of my all time favourites, @DerrenBrown in his opening night at the Liverpool Empire. As a showman he is utterly astounding, and as show, it was quite a masterpiece. He will baffle your mind and still manage to touch your heart. Thank you Derren.

@hankgreen Pre 12c it was 'ic', not capitalised. Changed to 'i' first in northern England, then everywhere else. Capitalisation came mid 13c to mark it as a distinct word and avoid misreading in handwritten manuscripts. Hence no predecessors/relatives have it: ego, je, aš, yo, ich, io, jeg.

@hankgreen Funny enough ich or ik were still used for a while, when the following word began with a vowel. The question is, on that basis, why isn't 'a' capitalised. And perhaps partly because it still maintained its other form 'an', when preceding a word beginning with a vowel.
