I'm intentionally awol here these days but wanted to shout out @amywestervelt and @MaryHeglar as they toss the lighter over their shoulders and say goodbye to their fabulous @RealHotTake show. Their voices got me through the worst pandemic days on my long walks and I'm grateful.

@monfresh A tough loss but so exciting to watch Morocco play. Every time they had the ball in France's half I was sure it would end up in the net. Their one-touch passing game is thrilling. The future is bright.

The week Roe override leaked (5/2) ksvotes.org/stats/ shows 250 voter registrations for that whole week, which was a huge bump. Today we 2x that in 4 hours.

Seeing traffic on the site right now similar to what we see on the day before registration closes for a general election in a presidential year. Primary registration deadline is 7/12 so this is Very Unusual.

The #RoeVsWade announcement, followed immediately by a huge spike in activity at ksvotes.org @KSVotesorg -- Kansans are getting ready to vote in August.

In the last 2 hours alone the number of voter registrations and advanced ballot applications has exceeded all single-day totals for the previous 3 months. ksvotes.org/stats/

i teach a class for public policy students about how to code and do data analysis. every semester, i get questions from students about how to get jobs, but i came from engineering rather than policy/analysis, so my path isnt really applicable to them. any advice for them?
