This is such a good thread on some reporters and journalists summarizing comments rather than using the specific words we gave. This happens to me, particularly changing my gender and race expansive language to “women” only. It’s very frustrating.

Legit question: why do so many journalists prefer phone over email when it comes to answering interview questions? I prefer email because I'm very precise in my speech, and when I'm summarized that accuracy is lost. Yet most journalists seem to prefer phone. Why?
